SEVEN REASONS FOR OFFENSE

Greetings in the name of Jesus Christ! Here is the word for your meditation and prayer!
I am still compelled to teach about offense and unforgiveness. I feel this is what is troubling and worrying many people today. If we can overcome and conquer this skandalon ( bait stick) we can live stress free and joyful lives. The Bible says, " Woe unto the world because of offences! for it must needs be that offences come; but woe to that man by whom the offence  cometh!" ( Matthew 18:7 KJV).  The title of my message is: "SEVEN REASONS FOR OFFENSE"

I thought I should try to teach today in point form, in order for many people to follow and understand the teaching.
Although I have never personally conducted a formal survey, my studies have led me to the following seven basic reasons why people get offended:
 1. Oversensitive - People who are overly sensitive are easily offended - making everyone nearby feel like they must walk on egg shells.
 2. Insensitive - The next reason people become offended is exactly the opposite of the first reason  - because they are too insensitive,  saying and doing things without thinking, they leave wounded people scattered along their path. This leads to rejection and offense.
 3. Unforgiveness-  Others are unwilling to forgive. Instead they cling to offenses. I know a person who held on an offense for more than forty years, and it showed on their face.
 4. Unrealistic expectations - Another individual who is easily offended is one with a root of bitterness  - falling victim to unrealistic or unfulfilled expectations.
5. Rebellion  - Someone with a spirit of rebellion, who refuses to submit to any form of biblical correction or authority, can succumb to offense.
6:Critical Spirit  - Still, others harbour a critical spirit - finding fault with everyone and everything.     7. Feeling  God is Unfair - Finally, some are mad and offended at God  - either disliking His plan or feeling He is unfair.

All of these people have so much pride that they don't truthfully see themselves.
Only when they look at themselves honestly, the way God sees them, will they be diligent to keep their hearts clean from offense.

With the above teachings on some reasons which cause offense, I want to encourage us all to try and avoid offense.
People of God, don't be snared by things which may draw us back in our Christian faith.

Pray and ask the Holy Spirit to help you avoid things that may hurt you and cause bitterness, hatred and unforgiveness.( Ephesians 6:18, 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18, Matthew 6:9-18, Ephesians 4:31-32, Matthew 18:15-35).
Love, embrace, forgive and forget, in the name of Jesus.

May God richly bless you all!
