CAŔRYING THE CROSS

Greetings in the name of Jesus Christ! I am pleased to share the Word of life for your spiritual edification and empowerment!
The scripture in Mark 8:34 says, " Whoever wishes to come after me must deny himself, take up his cross, and follow me." The title of my message is: " Carrying the Cross! The above famous words from Jesus appear in all three of the synoptic Gospels ( Mark 8:34; Matthew 16:24; Luke 9:23).

They have two different interpretations. One interpretation focuses on suffering as a " witness" to the Lord. The other interpretation focuses on the suffering that we face as we "die to ourselves." Ìn this message , we want to focus on the first interpretation, asking what it means to carry the crosses that come to us in this life.

In my next message, we will take a look at the  power of the cross to help us die to sin and self- centered ways of thinking and acting.  We all have Crosses to carry! When we look at the call to take up our cross, we tend to think of the way God asks us to accept and embrace the sufferings and hardships that come from living in this fallen world. While we have a difficult time understanding why a good God allows his people to suffer, we all know what suffering feels like, and we can understand how it can be linked to the cross. (1 Corinthians 1:17-18, Psalm 30:5).

The kind of suffering can be physical or spiritual or psychological. It can range from cancer to the inner wounds caused by someone who persecutes you because of your faith. It can come in the form of a stillborn baby or in the form of a healthy child who is not doing as well as he or she could do in school. It can come from our standing up for Innocent life in a culture of death, or it can come from having to endure the pain of a broken relationship.

Whatever, its source, we all have situations in our lives that we could honestly call " crosses" that we have  to bear. It is important to see, however, that before we accept or embrace any cross we may encounter, we should feel free to ask the Lord to remove it from us. Yes, Jesus told us to carry our crosses. But at the same time he himself healed many  people.

He removed their crosses because of his love and compassion. Just as Jesus removed the crosses from these people, there are many instances where he wants to remove ours. He knows all about our suffering, and he is with us. He loves to heal us. ( John 16:33, Isaiah 53:3-5, Deuteronomy 31:6-8, Acts 10:38). I do not know what cross you are carrying right now, but the Lord is saying give me your yoke and take mine which is light . ( Matthew 11:28-30).

It can be the cross of a sour marriage or relationship, take it to Jesus. It can be the cross of a nagging illness, broken heart, bitterness, unforgiveness and barrenness, just cast it all upon the Lord, he will sustain you. ( 1 Peter 5:7, Psalm 55:22, Luke 4:18, Psalm 34:17-19). Let us all carry our crosses and move on with our lives.

The Lord will not let you fall with your  cross, he will be with you to help you overcome all trials and temptations in this life.  ( Romans 5:3-5, Romans 8:35-39).
Carrying the Cross is a sacrifice for both physical and spiritual victory in our lives!
May God richly bless you for reading this message!

Jesus The Living Water and Bread of Life

Greetings in the name of Jesus Christ!
I just want to share the word of encouragement.
The Bible says, " And by  a miracle God sent them food to eat and water to drink there in the desert; they drank water that Christ gave them. He was there with them as a mighty Rock of spiritual refreshment." ( 1 Corinthians 10:4 TLB).
The title if my message is : " Jesus the Living water and Bread of life!"  Those who abide in Christ and Christ in them, will not lack anything. Christ is the Living water and Bread of life, who supplies everything which pertains to life and godliness, for both our spiritual and physical nourishment. ( John 4:13-14, John 6:35, 51, 2 Peter 1:3-4).
You may be in  a desert of challenges and sickness right now, but Jesus the Bread of life is there to heal and deliver you. Whatever, wilderness situation and experience you may be in right now,  the Lord is saying, " Be still and know that I am God..! ( Psalm 46: 10). In that devastating and painful situation, the Lord is saying, "Come to me you shall find rest and strength to comfort you......... " ( Matthew 11:28-30). Commit everything to the Lord in prayer, He will sustain you. Cast everything upon the Lord!  ( John 15:7-8, Psalm 55:22, 1 Peter 5:7, Jeremiah 33:3).
Abide in Christ the Living  water and Bread of life and you will not lack anything! Remember, He was there in the beginning when everything was made and created, and He was there at the Red see when the Israelites crossed the sea, and even in the wilderness He was the water that came out of the Rock and the manna that was supplied to the Israelites in their desperate situation in the wilderness! The same God and the same Jesus, is there today to meet all your needs, as He is saying He will never leave you nor forsake you. Just believe,  wait and pray, you will not be disappointed.
If you believe say, Amen! ( Hebrews 13:5-6,8, John 14:14, Isaiah).

May God richly bless you all for reading this message.

ENJOYING GOD'S BENEFITS AND PROTECTION

Greetings in the name of Jesus Christ! I want to share the word of God from Psalm 46:1-3, which says, ".........Therefore will not we fear, though the earth be removed, and though the mountains be carried into the midst of the sea;................."         The title of my message is:  "ENJOYING GOD'S BENEFITS AND PROTECTION!"  When you have God as your refuge, you stand to derive numerous benefits. Having God as your Refuge, places you in an advantageous position and makes you truly blessed. One of the blessings that money cannot buy is having divine cover over your life that keeps you safe from the enemy. If you consider your strengths and weaknesses, and take a stock of the opportunities and threats you are exposed to continuously, you will realize that having God as a Refuge is a priceless benefit indeed. With God as your cover, you are shielded from so many attacks of the enemy. Even the losses that are programmed to come your way are terminated by God before they get to you. If you are not yet enjoying the strength of God’s cover, you are experiencing a big loss in your life.
Another benefit of having God as your Refuge is that His strength will be made available to help you in the time of trouble.(Psalm 91:1-3).  Speaking about God’s strength, 1 Corinthians 1:25b gives this insight:
“…. and the weakness of God is stronger than men.”
In several scriptures, there are Good promises to help us in the time of need. For instance, Psalm 50:15 says,“And call upon me in the day of trouble: I will deliver thee, and thou shalt glorify me.”
If God is not your Refuge and you call on Him when you need help, He may not respond to you. On the other hand, He easily responds to those under His cover. Are you under God’s cover? Is He your Refuge?  " The name of the Lord is a strong tower, the righteous run to for safety" ( Proverbs 18:10). Moreover, when God is your Refuge, no matter what happens, there is no cause for alarm. Just think about this for a minute: Psalm 46:2-3 says that as you are under God’s cover, when there is an earthquake and uproar in the seas or even if the mountains are blown off their locations, you will still be safe where you are. Praise the Lord! It is an anomaly for you to be under God’s protective cover and still be afraid of storms of life. Beloved, do not be scared of the storms confronting you! Don’t be afraid of the earthquake! Don’t even shake when the unmovable are moved from their secured places. Why? As long as God is your Refuge, you cannot be moved. "They that trust in the Lord shall be as mount Zion, which cannot be removed, but abideth for ever........." ( Psalm 125:1-2).  Whatever cannot move God cannot move you.  If out of fear, you have been displaced from under God’s cover, in the Name of Jesus Christ, as you repent of your lack of faith, the Lord will return you to the place of His Refuge! With God as your Refuge, there is no shaking for you! ( Hebrews 12:26-29).Let me end by declaring that, because Lord, You are my Refuge and fortress, let everything that is designed to shake me fail, in the name of Jesus Christ- Amen!
Trust God in all circumstances and you will not be shaken or moved by any storms  and challenges of this world.

May God richly bless you for reading this message.

GIVING ACTIVATES DIVINE PROVISIONS

Greetings in the name of Jesus Christ! The Bible in
Psalm 13:6 says, "I will sing unto the Lord, because he hath dealt bountifully with me." The title of my message is: "Giving activates Divine Provisions"  I just want to start by mentioning that; generous divine provision is the benefit of those in the sheepfold of the Great Shepherd. God prepares a table of abundance for His sheep (Psalm 23:5). As born again Christians we have been given power to become sons of God and heirs of the Kingdom of God. ( Galatians 4:7, John 1:12) This is why David in Psalm 13:6 says:"I will sing unto the Lord, because he hath dealt bountifully with me.”
This scripture is a personal testimony of David, after God had blessed him beyond measure, and he began to testify of God’s goodness through songs. If you carefully study the life of David, you will discover that the secret of his prosperity, lay in the principles he lived by. One of such principles is demonstrated in the scripture reading: he believed giving to be the key to receiving. Can you imagine a man giving a loaf of bread to every citizen of a country? This was what David did, and he even gave much more! We often wonder why most of us are not flowing in God’s abundance, even though God has resources to cater for more than we could ever need. One likely reason for this is that we do not strictly follow divine financial principles. Jesus, in Luke 6:38, says,“Give, and it shall be given unto you; good measure, pressed down, and shaken together, and running over, shall men give into your bosom. For with the same measure that ye mete withal it shall be measured to you again.”
Let us draw a few lessons from this. Firstly, if you ever want to receive, it is your duty to first give. If you fail to sow, you would be deceiving yourself to expect a harvest.(2 Corinthians 9:6-10) Many of us refuse to give, and yet we continue to pray, fast and do all other things right. If you want to receive, first give. It is important to note that God will never owe anyone. If you give, you will receive a harvest, no matter how long it takes, as long as the seed is not uprooted. God is not a man to lie, if he promises anything in His word He fulfills it. ( Numbers 23:19-20, 2 Corinthians 1:20) That is the character of our God. He does not change. (Malachi 3:6,9,10,11)1
However, the way the harvest comes and when it will come, are issues that may not be too clear to you. For instance, you may be expecting your harvest for a particular seed in form of physical cash, not knowing that God has already given it to you as a harvest of peace in the time of trouble, or as protection when the enemy came calling.( Psalm 50:14-15) Sometimes, you cannot tell how the harvest of a given seed will come, although if you connect into the Holy Spirit, He can sometimes reveal to you that a particular harvest you received was from a particular seed you sowed. Moreover, God who knows our needs should be given the freedom to determine when and how our harvest should come. (Philippians 4:19, Matthew 6:6,18).  Just make sure that a lifestyle of giving and sowing seeds is an indelible part of you. Do you give to His servants? Do you give to the needy? How often do you give? I am sure you have answers to all the above questions, since giving is a personal decision you make. ( 1 Corinthians 9:10-15)
Giving is an act. Giving is also a spirit. Pray that God will give you the spirit of giving. You open doors of abundant blessings by giving to the Lord, the poor and those in need. Lastly, the Bible says, " Those who sow in tears, Shall reap in joy. He who continually goes forth weeping, Bearing seed for sowing, Shall doubtless come again with rejoicing, Bringing his sheaves with him." Psalm 126:5-6) It may feel painful and hard to give and sow in the House of the Lord, but when you reap the benefits of giving, you will celebrate in joy and happiness.

Give, in order to unlock divine favour from God's unlimited provisions!

May God richly bless you all for reading this message!
