A WRONG PERCEPTION

Greetings in the name of Jesus Christ!  Here is the word for your meditation and prayer!
I continue to share on the subject of offense and unforgiveness. I feel this is a very critical subject that has destroyed many marriages, relationships, families and businesses. The title of my message today is:" A WRONG PERCEPTION"

Some people think they can simply receive deliverance from offense through prayer.
But they fail to realize that after receiving prayer, they have both a choice and a responsibility to act on the word of God.

The Bible says, " But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves. For if any be a hearer of the word, and not a doer, he is like unto a man beholding his natural face in a glass......" ( James 1:22-24)

Again according to Mark 4:15, once you have received prayer, the devil will come immediately to steal the Word of God from your heart. The scripture says, " ......Satan comes immediately and takes away the word that was sown in their hearts." Satan will tempt you to re- embrace the same old offense that once plagued you. He will build a case with thoughts such as: " You cannot just let go of the wrong  that was done to you, or you will be nothing more than  a doormat. They need to pay for treating you so unkindly."

Thoughts similar to these originate from Satan in hopes of reviving an old offense, but you must resist him. James 4:7 says, " Therefore submit to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you." Many people wrongly believe that being a Christian means that you are a wimp, and you are supposed to allow others  to walk all over you, or use and abuse you.

But that is simply not true. Jesus made a solemn statement concerning those who were responsible for offending others. He said, " Woe to the world because of offenses! For offenses must come, but woe to the man by whom the offense comes!"( Matthew 18:7).

However, not everyone is willing to do what it takes to be free from offense. Some people only want to be prayed for to receive a quick fix - a prayer that will solve all their problems and make them feel good again. Don't get me wrong. I believe in the power of prayer. I know that the anointing of God is transferred by the laying of the hands, but you must be sure that you are not merely looking for a quick fix when seeking prayer.( 2 Timothy 1:6)

In other words, after receiving prayer, you must make the decision that regardless of how you feel, you are not going to be offended, and then you are going to take the responsibility to learn how to prevent future offense. It takes a willing heart to forgive and forget. It also takes an effort to act and release offense in line with the dictates of the Word of God.

So many people have a wrong perception about offense and unforgiveness.
Let us try by all means to avoid offending other people, as well as avoid offense and hatred.
Live freely and peacefully with all people. ( Hebrews 12:14).

May God richly bless you all!
