OFFENSE COMES WITH A PURPOSE

 

 

 

 

Greetings in the name of Jesus Christ! Here is the word for your meditation and prayer! I feel compelled to continue sharing on the subject of offense. The title of my message is:" OFFENSE COMES WITH A PURPOSE". 

 

Like  many carnal people  those who hold offense tend to defend themselves by saying, " I have a perfectly good reason for acting the way I do about this situation." But what they have failed to realize is that offense comes with a number of objectives. The devil will bring offense in order to destroy you, your anointing, your marriage, your family, your finances, and your friendships. The second reason offense comes is to disrupt your communion with God.

 

Mark 11:25 says, " And whenever you stand praying, if you have anything against anyone, forgive him, that your Father in heaven may also forgive you your trespasses."

This verse clearly reveals the connection between forgiving others and being forgiven by God. Offense will not only produce a barrier between you and God that hinders your prayer life, it will also keep you in constant state of being upset towards the person who has offended you.( Isaiah 59:1-2).

 

Many times, the person with whom you are angry doesn't even realize that they have done something  to hurt you. So, while you are being eaten up with hurt and unforgiveness, they remain carefree. However,  the issue is not whether the hurt was intentional or not; what matters instead is the unforgiveness and offense are not allowed to take root in your life.

 

The third reason the devil brings offense into your life is to steal the Word of God that has been sown in your heart.  Mark 4:14-17 says, " The sower sows the word, and these are the ones by the wayside where the word is sown. When they hear, Satan immediately comes and takes away the word which was sown in their hearts. These, likewise, are the ones sown on stony ground, who  when tjey hear the word immediately receive it with gladness. And they have no root in themselves, and so endure only for a time. Afterward when tribulation or persecution  arises for the word's sake, immediately they stumble."

 

After the word of God has been sown in your heart, the devil will immediately bring trials, tribulations, and persecution for one purpose: to steal  the Word of God before it takes root. In a church environment, this can also happen as a result of announcements and other discussions which may take place immediately after a powerful service and the congregants or believers end up going home with notices and other church announcements, instead of the Word of God.

 

The Greek Word skandalizo is not only translated "offend," but also " stumble."

That means when someone is offended, there is a stumbling block in their path, prohibiting any advancement. Although these people receive the Word with gladness,  they stumble when persecution or trials come, because they have no root in themselves.       

 

 Mark 6:2-3 records Jesus teaching in Nazareth, " And when the Sabbath has come, He began to teach in the synagogue. And many hearing Him were astonished, saying, 'Where did this Man get these things? And what wisdom is this which is given to Him, that such mighty works are performed by His hands! Is this not the carpenter, the Son of Marry, and brother of James, Joses, Judas, and Simon? And are not His sisters here with us?' And they were offended at Him."

 

Verse 5 of Mark 6, describes the result  the residents of Nazareth experienced as consequence of their offense  toward Jesus:" Now He could do no mighty work there, except that He laid His hands on a few sick people and healed them."

 

Notice, it does not say that Jesus would not do any mighty works there, it says He could not.

It is always God's desire to give good gifts to His children, however, offense  can make the power of God ineffective. 

 

Matthew 7:11 says, "If you then, being evil, know  how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father who is in heaven give good things to those who ask Him!"                        Don't allow offense to sidetrack you from the miracle God has planned for you!

 

Instead, choose to forgive every hurt and wrongdoing so that the stumbling blocks that are prohibiting your advancement in the Kingdomof God will be removed. So it is evident that offense comes with a purpose.

 

At times it is done deliberately and the person who would have triggered the offense would have achieved his purpose.

However, I encourage you not to deliberately offend other people. Love one another!

And forgive another! Forgive and forget! 

 

If you are there and you feel someone has offended you deliberately, but you can't seem to take it off your mind and heart, just focus on the Lord and ask the Holy spirit to comfort and strengthen you, as you forgive and forget.( John 14:26, John 15:26, John 16:13, Colossians 3:16-17, James 1:17, Matthew 11:28-30).

 

Be delivered and set free right now, from the spirit of unforgiveness and offense in the name of Jesus Christ-  AMEN!

AVOID NEGATIVE DECLARATIONS, ALWAYS MAKE POSITIVE DECLARATIONS.

 

 

 

Greetings in the name of Jesus Christ! Here is the word for your meditation and prayer!

I want to encourage and remind you that words can build or destroy you. Let us always endeavor to avoid making negative declarations and destructive swearings .

 

The Bible says, " Thou shalt also decree a thing, and it shall be established unto thee: and the light shall shine upon thy ways." ( Job 22:28-29) " Declare it and it shall be established! " The title of my message is:"AVOID NEGATIVE DECLARATIONS, ALWAYS MAKE POSITIVE DECLARATIONS " 

 

Did you know that what you declare and swear, will always come to pass?

So avoid saying negative words and start to declare positively, right now in the name of Jesus. I DECLARE TODAY THAT;  Every enemy of your increase, shall scatter by fire. I decree that, whosoever says  you will not improve, whatsoever says you will not go up, whatsoever says you will not have divine acceleration, whatsoever says you will not be enlarged, shall be exposed and disgraced. The strength of the Most High God, will carry you through. And above all, whatsoever challenges you are facing in life, receive strength to overcome them all in Jesus mighty Name-Amen!

 

The scripture also says,"He will keep the feet of his saints, and the wicked shall be silent in darkness; for by strength shall no man prevail" (1 Samuel 2:9) Speak it and declare it by faith, it shall be established in the name of Jesus. ( Proverbs 18:21, John 1:1-4). Remember, death and life are in the power of the tongue....!

 

What you say, you bocome! You become, what you say! There is power in the tongue. You can build or destroy, with your tongue. You bless or curse, with your tongue.  Choose your words wisely and carefully, otherwise you may eat the poison of your negative and destructive speech. So when you make declarations, be careful not to make negative declarations that may destroy your faith anf prayer life.

 

Speak and live positively, in order to defeat the devil. Otherwise you may be snared by the words of your mouth.( Proverbs 6:2) Declare it and you will have it! Live and stay positively! Think and dream positively! ( Proverbs 23:7)

OFFENSE STOPS THE BLESSING OF GOD.

 

 

 

 

Greetings in the name of Jesus Christ! Here is the word  for your meditation and prayer!

I just want to mention that in this world we live in,  there are many things that offend people. Many people are wounded and hurt, due to bitterness and stress, caused by offenses and unforgiveness. However, unforgiveness and offense, can be a hindrance to our breakthroughs and blessings.  ( Mark 11:25-25, Isaiah 59:1-4). The title of my message is:" OFFENSE STOPS THE  BLESSING OF GOD. "          

 

Jesus expressed the benefit of remaining unaffected by offense to His cousin, John the Baptist.

While John was in prison, he sent his disciples to ask Jesus if He was the " Coming One" or they should look for another. Matthew 11:4-6 clarifies the response Jesus sent to John the Baptist.

 

The Bible says, Jesus answered and said, " Go and tell John the things which you hear and see: The blind see and the lame walk; the lepers are cleansed and the deaf hear; the dead are raised up and the poor have the gospel preached to them.  And blessed is he who is not offended because of Me."( Matthew 11:4-6) Some theologians actually believe by the way this passage is worded in the Greek that John the Baptist was offended by Jesus. Notice the serious admonition that Jesus sent to John and his followers: " Blessed is he who is not offended because of Me."

 

Jesus stressed that if John and his disciples would not become offended, the blessings of God would continue to flow to them. On the other hand, if they did become offended, then the blessings would be hindered. You can be certain that the devil will send the opportunity to become offended your way, using any person or circumstance available. The critical question is: How you react when offensive situations come? While one reaction will bring the anointing, the blessing,  and the goodness of God, the other will bring a curse.

 

Although Galatians 3:13 says that Christ has redeemed us from the curse, you can make choices that will leave you vulnerable and defenseless to it. Through disobedience to God's Word, you can open a door to the devil that will allow him to take advantage of you. Obedience is better than sacrifice. ( 1 Samuel 15:22).  Don't give the devil a foothold". ( Ephesians 4:26-32) "Never give place to the devil".

 

For example, when you allow offense to consume your heart, it will begin to fester like a cancerous disease that will soon destroy you. Remember, even though the Word says offense will come, you can respond in the same manner in which Jesus did toward Peter and refuse to take hold of it! ( Matthew 18:7). Don't be offended!  Be calm and composed! Take time to react and respond to any  provocative situation. ( James 1:19-22).

 

Offense and sin can block and stop your blessings from manifesting. I want to encourage you  even at a time such as this, during the Covid-19 lockdown, to utilize the opportunity and reconcile with all people who offended and hurt you. Swallow your pride and ask for forgiveness from those you offended. I also challenge all those who were offended or hurt, to accept the apology and live freely and peaceful. ( Matthew 6:12-15, Isaiah 43:25).

 

If you can't forgive or accept the apology for forgiveness, never worst time praying the Lord's prayer, which I quoted above. Otherwise, you will be just pretending and playing religious gymnastics, that won't take you anywhere. These are the last days, stop pretending and redeem the time, because the days are evil. ( Ephesians 5:13-16). Wake up you sleeper! Don't perish because of your arrogance and pride! 

 

Forgive and forget, and you will receive your breakthrough. If you are there, and you have been wondering why it has taken you so long to receive your breakthrough and answered prayers, know that you could be the stumbling block and hindrance to your blessings, because of harbouring unforgiveness and offense. 

 

Be delivered and set free right now, in the name of Jesus Christ!

WHAT IS A CURSE OR SWEAR WORD?

 

 

 

 

 

 

Greetings in the name of Jesus Christ! Hope it is well with you at such a time as this?

I just feel I want to help some people, who have been praying and fasting, but don't see any change in  their lives. In some cases your problems may be as a result of a curses which are blocking and preventing you from receiving a breakthrough.         WHAT IS A CASE?  

 

A curse is whatever is repeatedly and constantly adverse, primitive and malicious against a person. A curse hinders all positive potential - SPIRITUAL,  MENTAL, PHYSICAL,  EMOTIONAL,  including the talents of the VICTIM.  The cause of these curses is sin in all its forms.                            TYPES OF CURSES.            

 1. ORIGINAL CURSE- GENESIS 3 :14-19                 - Was brought about because of DISOBEDIENCE.                   - It entails much sweat and HARD LABOUR.         It also entails DEATH AND CURSED GROUND- Little produce.                     

 2. THERE ARE INHERITED CURSES- EXODUS 34:7; DEUTERONOMY  5:9.        

  - Through parental covenants- Lamentations 5:7                 

 -Disobedience to GOD'S WORD                                   

 - IDOLATRY IN THE TRIBE.                                   

 -Murder -( Avenging Spirit) NGOZI.                   

-Suicide                                - Incest                                   -witchcraft                                - Aldultery                              - Divorce                                -Poverty                               -Death - unexplainable/queer deaths                        -Deformities                       - No marriage to marriageable age - Boys and girls                                   - Barrenness                           - Lust and addictions               - Drunkenness                        -Insanity                             

3. DIRECT CURSE BY MAN -GENESIS 49:1-7; 20-25                           -They come through spoken word by some one you;                               - Hence wronged- PROPHECIES OF DOOM.           - Who hates you - Through  witchcraft.

SELF -INFLICTED CURSE- MALACHI 3:9       - Direct disobedience  to God's WORD Such as:         - Tithing - Malachi 3:7-9            -IDOLATRY-Deuteronomy 27:18                                    Disobeying parents - Deuteronomy 27:16            -Robbing your neighbour - Deuteronomy 27:17,24      -Cruelty to BLIND PEOPLE- Deuteronomy 27:18                                   -Cruelty to strangers, fatherless,widow, House-maids - Deuteronomy 27:19; Exodus 22:21-22                 -Incest-Deuteronomy 27:20, 22-23                          -Bestiality - Deuteronomy 27:21           - Taking a bribe to slay innocent people( VIOLENCE) Deuteronomy:27:25               - Ignoring God's commands- ,Deuteronomy 27:26, Deuteronomy 28:15-                                     - Immorality-Genesis 49:3-4                                 - Stealing and lying -Joshua 7:1-2, 15; 2 Kings 5:20-27; Acts 5:1-10                                    -Slander, Gossip and Tale - Bearing- Genesis 9:20-25                                  Now I want to explain and talk about:" SYMTOMS OF CURSES AND DEMONIC OPPRESSION" and I will also talk about "Ministering deliverance  demonic of demonic curses, as well as demonic "OPPRESSION and Possession". Once again the subject  of curses is very topical and critical, as it requires an in- depth analysis. I just want to mention that Curse words are also called swear words.        "WHAT ARE SWEAR WORDS AND WHAT ARE THEY USED FOR?"                  A swear word is a word or phrase that's generally considered blasphemous,  obscene, vulgar, or otherwise offensive. These are also called bad words, obscenities, expletives, dirty words, profanities, and four - letter words. The act of using a swear word is kmown as swearing or cursing. Swear words serve many different functions in different social contexts. They express annoyance,  aggression and insult, for instance,  or they may express solidarity  and friendliness.To curse is also to utter a wish of evil against one; to imprecate evil upon; to execrate. The Bible says, " Do not let any unwholesome talk come out of your mouths, but only what is helpful for building others up according to their needs, that it may benefit those who listen. ( Ephesians 4:29). The title of my message is: "WHAT IS A CURSE?"  The scripture also says, " He loved to pronounce a curse - may it come back on him. He found no pleasure in blessing - may it be far from him". ( Psalm 109:17) " Bless those who persecute you; bless and do not curse." ( Romans 12:14).  1. Some people want freedom from responsibility-  being given guidance by dead relations or demons.              

2. Power over others -  Witchcraft control                 

3. Deep rooted sin - sexual pervesions, rebellion, forgiveness            

4. Love of pleasure                

5. Psychic powers - secret knowledge, telling fortunes.                                

 6. Companionship - some demons provide company.                            

 

In conclusion, it is clear that there can be sinful or destructive patterns that pass on from one generation to another in a family line! This is what is referred  to as generational curses or strongholds. I have already explained  different types of generational curses and how Jesus came to set us free. Some believers are in the battle of their lives because they are the transion point in their family line, breaking destructive cycles that have gone on for many generations. And for some, breaking a generational curse is the key to their freedom from bondange or oppression.    

 

 Because Jesus became a curse for us, no Christian must live under a generational curse. ( Galatians 3:13).

 I have already mentioned the types of curses, but I want to emphasize that there are six common curses, which are: 1. Ancestral curses which come through the bloodline.          

 2. Generational curses, which go from one generation to another in a family.  Some examples are heart disease, blood disease, and insanity.                      

3. Personal curses which are self- imposed or inflicted curses.                   

4. Inherited curses.                

 5. Tribal curses. These  are curses originating from your tribe or home town/ village.                          6. International curses. These are curses that cut accross continents.   I want you to  make the following declaration declaration:- May stubborn problems in my life, die by fire right now!

 

There is power in the blood of Jesus to break every chain in my life. We conquer satan, we conquer demons in the name of Jesus. Every satanic agenda of the wicked for my life, scatter by fire,  in the name of Jesus. Every weapon of the wickedness, assigned against my life, backfire in the name of Jesus. Every power binding me and my destiny, release me and let me go, right now in the name of Jesus. . Every generational curse working against my life, break and die, in the name of Jesus.  Every Occult power harassing my life with evil curses, die with your curses, in the name of Jesus. Every  stubborn curse controlling my life,  break and die, in the name of Jesus.  I declare and decree that there shall be no reiforcement, regrouping  and counterattack of curses against my life, in the mighty name of Jesus.   Thank you Lord for breaking every curse  operating in my life. Pronounce blessings over your life  to replace the curses that you have just broken, in the name of Jesus Christ- Amen!

PRAYER POWER FOR THE NATION

 

 

 

 

Greetings in the name of Jesus Christ! Here is a prayer for the Nation at such a time as this. : PRAYER POWER FOR THE NATION"

 

Father in the name of Jesus, Lord, I pray for the people of this country to find healing for the memories  of the tragedies that  have happened in our land. I pray especially for those who have lost their loved ones in defense of our country. I also pray for those that have lost their loved ones due to the Covid-19 pandemic. Give them a greater sense of your presence so that  they may find Your comfort. Heal the brokenhearted people who have now lost hope. Provide for their every need. As we weep with those who weep, help us to bear their burden in prayer. Pour your healing love over them so they will know and experience Your peace. Help us not to forget why we must " pray without ceasing" for our nation to be protected( 1 Thessalonians 5:17). Help us to remember that the only things in this world that are indestructible are You and Your Word. Your word always reminds us to seek Your face and pray in times such as this. ( 2 Chronicles 7:14) Your Word also tells us that there will be cataclysmic events that will happen in the world, but I pray that there will be an end to disasters or tragedies in our nation. Even if those kinds of events do occur, I pray that You will protect us in the midst of them. Turn the heart of our nation to You. Awaken in us a new realization of our need for Your guidance and protection. Give us a new  understanding of what is really important. Your Word says that You have " borne our griefs and carried our sorrows. ( Isaiah 53:4). Bear our griefs now, carry our sorrows, and put gladness in our hearts as  only You can do. Lord teach me to be a powerful intercessor for my family, neighbors, community, city, and nation. Help me to pray consistently and with great understanding. Give me revelation and insight that guides my prayers so that I may pray more effectively.

 

Help the believers of this nation to rise up together and learn to pray in power. ( Acts 4:31)

Enable us to teach our children how to pray as well, and help us all to understand what it means to be a nation whose God is the Lord. In the name of Jesus, I pray- Amen!

WHAT MAKES SHEEP LIE DOWN

 

 

 

 

 

Greetings in the name of Jesus Christ! Here is the word for your meditation and prayer! I continue to share the word about the Good Shepherd. The Bible  says, " O come, let us worship and bow down: let us kneel before the Lord our maker. For he is our God; and we are the people of His pasture, and the sheep of His hand ......." ( Psalm 95:6-7) The title of my message is:" WHAT MAKES SHEEP LIE DOWN?"

 

In the word of God, His people are called sheep. Jesus describes us as " sheep without a shepherd". It is important to understand the life and behaviour of the sheep in order to lead them effectively. You must see yourself as a sheep in relation to God and in relation to your pastor. You must also see your church members as sheep in order to understand them better. In the twenty - third  Psalm we see how David describes the life of a sheep from his own experience as a shepherd.

 

This vivid description of " sheep life" comes from the mouth of an experienced Israelite shepherd who pictures himself as God's  own sheep.                               

BECAUSE THE LORD IS MY SHEPHERD, I HAVE EVERYTHING I NEED!                   

Psalms 23:1-6 says, "The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want.
He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters.
He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name's sake.
Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.
Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over.
Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the LORD for ever."            

 

I was excited to discover many similar parallels in the life of a sheep as revealed by one morden - day shepherd, who kept sheep for many years. He had the practical experience of shepherding in the morden context and gives amazing confirmation to the revelation of Psalm 23.

 

I am sure if you once stayed in the village like me, you may have had the fisrt hand experience of shepherding the sheep as well.

And you may have noticed the difference in behaviour between sheep and the goats.                                 

 

The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want. He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters. ( Psalm 23:1-2).                   

Sheep lie down only under certain circumstances. You must be able  to make the sheep in your church lie down and stay with you. You must stabilize the frigtened sheep and keep people in a family around you. From my own experience as well I want to share few things that will make sheep lie down. Each one of the four  points below reveals why some people cannot stay in a church.                  

 

Tension with other members, fear, demonic attacks  and lack of good  food from the pulpit are all reasons why sheep do not settle down in churches.                               

1.SHEEP WILL LIE DOWN WHEN THEY ARE FREE FROM FEAR:                 Owing to their timidity they refuse to lie down unless they are free from all fear. Sheep are so timid and easily panic, that even a stray jackrabbit suddenly bounding from behind a bush can stampede the whole flock.

 

When one startled sheep runs in fright a dozen others will bolt with it in blind fear, not waiting  to see what frightened  them.                      

2.SHEEP WILL LIE DOWN WHEN THERE IS NO TENSION WITH OTHERS OF THEIR KIND:      

 

Because of the social behavior within a flock, sheep will not lie down unless they are free from friction with others of their kind.                                

3.SHEEP WILL LIE DOWN WHEN THEY ARE NOT TORMENTED BY FLIES OR PARASITES:  If tormented by flies or parasites sheep will not lie down. Only when free from these pests can they relax.                             

 

4.SHEEP WILL LIE DOWN WHEN THEY ARE FREE  FROM HUNGER: Sheep will not lie down as long as they feel in need of finding food. They must be free from hunger. To be at rest there must be a definite sense of freedom from fear, tension, aggravations and hunger.

 

It is evident here from the above explanations that sheep will not easily lie down unless they are satisfied in many areas of their lives. It is the same with the body of Christ, the shepherd has to lead his sheep to green pastures and make sure that they have enough spiritual food, which is the word of God with power and deep revelation. ( 1 Corinthians 2:1-4, 1 Corinthians 4:20, Luke 5:4, Matthew 4:4, John 6:35, Joshua 1:8).

 

From what I have just shared above you know your position in the Lord, as a sheep or shepherd. Jesus is the Good Shepherd who knows all our needs and disires, as a body of Christ.

Whatever, has been worrying and troubling you, just commit it to the Lord in prayer and the Lord will meet you at the point of all your needs. ( Psalm 37:4-5, Psalm 20:4-7)

 

Be delivered and set free right now from the spirit of fear, demonic attacks and sickness, in the name of Jesus Christ- Amen!

WHAT IT MEANS FOR SHEEP TO BE CAST DOWN

 

 

 

 

Greetings in the name of Jesus Christ!Here is the word for your meditation and prayer this morning!  People of God storms of life and tribulations, can cause us to be cast down and devastated, as the flock of the Lord.  Even at such a time as this, when people have lost hope and courage, at times they fail even to utter words of worship and praise, because of heavy burdens and suffering. ( 1 Peter 5:7-10, Matthew 11:28-30). The Bible says, " Why art thou cast down,  O my soul? and why art thou disquieted within me? hope thou in God............" ( Psalm 42:11) Once again I would like to share about the Good Shepherd and His sheep.

 

The title of my  message today is: " WHAT IT MEANS FOR SHEEP TO BE CAST DOWN!" As one of the morden shepherds I would also want to describe my experiences with sheep and share what it means for a sheep to be cast down. It is interesting to discover how any of the sheep can become helpless and unable to stand on its feet without help.          

 

The parallel between real sheep and real people is striking, to say the least. 

I want to mention that:  Cast or cast down is an old English shepherd's term for a sheep that has turned over on its back and cannot get up again by itself. If you are like me, who grew up herding cattle, goats and sheep in the village, you will understand what I am trying to share in this message.

 

A cast down sheep is a very pathetic sight. Lying on its back, its feet in the air, it flays away frantically struggling to stand up, without success.

Sometimes it will bleat a little for help, but generally it lies there lashing about in frightened frustration.

 

If the owner does not arrive on the scene within a reasonably short time, the sheep will die.

This is but another reason why it is so essential for a careful shepherd to look over his flock every day, counting them to see that all are able to be up and on their feet.

 

 If one or two are missing, often the first thought to flash into his mind is to notice that one of his sheep is missing and he must go and search for it and set it on its feet again. It is not only the shepherd who keeps a sharp eye for cast sheep but also the predators.

 

Buzzards, vultures, dogs, coyotes and cougars all know that a cast sheep is easy prey and death is not far off. This knowledge that any cast sheep is helpless, close to death and vulnerable to attack makes the whole problem of cast sheep serious for the manager.

 

Nothing seems to arouse his constant care and diligent attention to the flock as the fact that even the largest, fattest, strongest   and sometimes healthiest sheep can become cast and be a casualty. Actually it is often the fat sheep that are the most easily cast. A heavy, fat or long-  fleeced sheep will lie down comfortably in some little hollow or depression in the ground.  It may feel a sense of panic and start to paw frantically. Frequently this only makes things worse.  It rolls over even further.

 

Now it is quite impossible for it to regain its feet. If the weather is very hot and sunny, a cast sheep  can die in few hours. If it is cool and cloudy and rainy, it may survive in this position for several days. A shepherd would spend hours searching for a single sheep that is missing. Our Lord Jesus used to illustrate that in His ministry here on earth.  As soon as the shepherd reaches the cast ewe, his first impulse is to pick it up.

 

Jesus says come all those who are heavy laden you will find rest. ( Matthew 11:28-30). The same Jesus is seen demonstrating His compassionate heart in the form of a Good  Samaritan, who picked up a cast person on the road who had been beaten and left for dead.( Luke 10:30-37).

 

This is the spirit of a Good shepherd which is expected on today's shepherds. If sheep are not feeling well they can gain their strength if given proper care.

Little by little sheep would  regain its equilibrium. It would start to walk steadily and surely. By and by it would dash away to rejoin the others, set free from its fears and frustrations, given another chance to live a little longer. This usually  happen to many Christians, who at times backslide and when revived they gain strength to continue fellowshipping once again.

 

 Sheep are cast down for different reasons.                                  

1.THE SHEEP THAT CHOSE THE COMFORTABLE, SOFT ROUNDED HOLLOWS IN THE GROUND IN WHICH TO LIE DOWN VERY OFTEN BECOME CAST.         

In such a situation it is easy to roll over on their backs.                                    

In the Christian life there is a great danger in always looking for the easy place, the cosy corner, the comfortable position where there is no hardship, no need for endurance, no demand upon self- discipline.              

 

2. HAVING TOO MUCH WOOL CAN CAUSE A SHEEP TO BE CAST DOWN.                                

Often when the fleece becomes very long and heavily matted with mud, manure, burrs and other debris, it is much easier for a sheep to become cast, literally weighed down with its own wool.     "Wool" in Scripture depicts the old self -life in the Christian. It is the outward expression of an inner- attitude, the assertion of our own desire and hopes and aspirations. It is the area of our lives in which we are continually in contact with the world around us. Here is where we find the clinging accumulation of things, of possessions, of worldly ideas weighing, dragging and holding us down.      It is significant that no high priest was ever allowed to wear wool when he entered the Holy of Holies. This spoke of self, pride and personal preference  - and God would not tolerate it.               When a sheep is cast because it has too long and heavy a fleece the shepherd takes swift steps to remedy the situation. He would shear it clean and forestall the danger of having the ewe lose its life. This is not a pleasant process. Sheep do not really enjoy being sheared. It also represents hard work for the shepherd, but it must be done.                               

 

3.BEING TOO FAT CAN CAUSE A SHEEP TO BE CAST. IT IS WELL- KNOWN FACT THAT OVER-FAT SHEEP ARE NEITHER THE HEALTHIEST NOR THE MOST OFTEN PRODUCTIVE.                    

And certainly it is the fattest that most often are cast. Their weight simply makes it that much harder for them to be agile and nimble on their feet. Once a shepherd even suspects that his sheep are becoming cast because they are too fat he takes long - range steps to correct the problem. He puts the ewes on a more rigorous ration: they get less grain and their general condition is watched more closely. The aim of the shepherd is to see that the sheep are strong, sturdy and energetic and not fat, flabby and weak.                    

 

Once again as mentioned above both  real sheep and Christian believers, are often cast down, due to sicknesses and diseases and many other challenges. But the Good shepherd is always there to carry and sustain his sheep.( 2 Corinthians 4:8-9, Hebrews 10:35-39, Isaiah 41:10-13, Deuteronomy 6:6, Lamentations 3:22-33, Matthew 6:33, Philippians 4:19, Exodus 15:26). Whatever condition you may be in right now, just cast all your cares upon the Lord and he will sustain you. ( Psalm 55:22). Be  delivered and set free right now, in the name of Jesus Christ!
