PREPARE FOR THE COMING OF CHRIST

Greetings in the name of Jesus Christ! Here is the word for your meditation and prayer.
The theme of the message is:" PREPARE FOR THE COMING OF CHRIST."
Before I go deep into today's scripture readings, I want to explain a bit about the word "Prepare"
What is to prepare?:
 - It is to put in proper condition or readiness.
-To provide with what is necessary; outfit.
  - To put things or oneself in readiness; get ready.
  -Make ready before hand.
 -Get ready.

My scripture readings are: Psalm 138, Malachi 4:1-6, 1 Corinthians4:1-5, John 1:19-25                      Going back to the above scriptures, starting with Malachi 4:1-6, before the events narrated in this scripture the Lord had warned children of Israel about their iniquities and disobedience to God.

The preceding chapters 3 of Malachi, made reference to the one who is to be sent earlier as a Messenger to prepare for  the Lord's coming.
The Bible is referring to John the Baptist and also Elijah who were some of the prophets of God, who warned the children of Israel to obey God's commandments and and brace themselves for the coming of the Messiah's judgement day.( Malachi 3:1-7)

The Lord even said the children of Israel had a long history of ignoring God's warnings.                 Even today we have many people who ignore God's word when it is being preached. But the Lord says, I am God I change not and I will do that which I promise to do to his people. The Bible says, " Look I am sending my messenger on ahead to clear the way for me. Suddenly, out of the blue, the leader you have been looking for will enter his Temple-yes, the messenger of the covenant, the one you have been waiting for, Look! " He is on his way!" A message from the mouth of God -of -the Angel - Armies."  ( Malachi 3:1 MSG)

In Malachi 4:1-6, the Bible says "Count on it: The day is coming, raging like forest fire, All the arrogant people who do evil things will be burned up like stove wood, burned to a crisp, nothing left but scorched earth and ash- a black day. But for you, sunrise! The sun of righteousness with energy, like.........freshly and frolicking. And you will be nothing but ashes under your feet on that Day". God- of the Angel Armies says so. .........If they refuse, I will come and put the land under a curse".

Generally here we are being warned as Christians to be prepared  for the judgement day that will certainly come on all of us. What we have to do is to live right and obey God's word. We are in a time of grace and we have been given a choice to repent or perish. But judging by the behaviour and actions of many other people, it looks like they are living careless lives, ignorant of the fact that life is a journey and we are all going somewhere, after mother earth's passing life.

Therefore there is an urgent need for repentance in preparation for the coming of Christ Jesus. You either choose life or death. The choice is yours before it's too late. ( Deuteronomy 30:15-19). Jesus is the life giver and Saviour of our lives. He is coming back soon. :( Soon and very soon we are going to see the Lord!)" Those that fear the Lord and obey his commandments are recorded in the Book of life( Malachi 3:16-17, Luke 10:20).

The Bible says, " And I saw a great white throne and one sitting on it...........And the books were opened, including the book of life. And the dead were judged according to what they had done, as recorded in the books." ( Revelation 20:11-15). Remember your good works shall always follow you. Verse 15 says, "

Anyone whose name  was not found recorded in the Book of life was thrown into the lake of fire". Hell is real people of God! What we should do is to stay connected to the source of life, "JESUS CHRIST" who is the true  vine and life giver who comes to save mankind from destruction and burning in Hell.( John15:1-8). The spiritual blessings brought by Jesus are summed up in two, righteousness"( 1 Corinthians 1:30) and spiritual " healing" ( Psalms 103:3, Isaiah 57:19).

Those who walk in the dark now, may take comfort in the certainty that they shall walk thereafter in eternal light( Isaiah 50:10). The scripture refers to the wings of the Lord. In his wings - implying the winged swiftness with which he shall appear( "Suddenly" , Malachi 3 :1)  In he Old Testament, church was the moon, reflecting His light( Revelation 12:1, Songs 6:10,  Matthew 13:43). And ye shall dread down the wicked solving the difficult that the wicked often prosper. Their prosperity and adversity of godly shall soon be reversed ( Malachi 3:15)

Many times people admire non - believers when they prosper, not knowing that it is temporary( Psalm 73). Here we must know that John the Baptist was Elijah in spirit( Luke 1:16-17), but not the literal Elijah; whence, when asked " Art thou Elias?" ( John 1:21) he answered, " I am not, Art thou that prophet? No!   John knew by inspiration that he did not exhaustively fulfil all that is included in this prophecy, that there is a further fulfilment( Malachi 3:1). As Moses in Malachi 4:4 represents the law, so Elijah represents the prophets:( Matthew 17:3, Matthew 17:11). Revelation 11:16 reflects to the same witnesses of the transfiguration day( Revelation 11:2-12)

One thing I love with John is that he did not put himself in Jesus's shoes. He was humble. John knew his position was to prepare  the way for the Lord Jesus. In preparation for the Lord's coming let us not be fake   Christians, but be real. If you want to see and experience God's reality in your life be real yourself. Make the Word of God the standard for your life. ( Psalm 119:11, Joshua 1:8).

We have seen many times that when people are preparing for an event or a visit by important people, they take time to clean and do everything possible within their means, in order to impress the visitor or guests. What more the Great Guest, who is King of kings "JESUS CHRIST" .

Don't be like the five  foolish virgins referred to in Matthew 25:1-13, who were found wanting on the arrival of the bridegroom.
Matthew 25: 13 says, " Watch therefore, for ye know  neither the day nor the hour wherein the Son of man cometh." Stay alert as you wait upon the Lord's coming. I have also noticed that when preparing and putting things to order, other things are temporarily removed from the sight of people and then after the visitors have gone, they once again put back their things to their original positions. This is the same with many of us who impress in church or when there are visitors,  but still carry their character and behaviour behind the scenes. ( Remember that, " Character is what you are in the dark." ( R. Modley).

Beware of such people, who are pretenders. Remember God sees in the dark and everything is naked before Him. ( Hebrews 4:12-13). Don't miss your blessings at the last hour when the Lord's grace locates you.

Finally let us prepare our hearts  and everything within us in preparation for the coming of the Messiah.
If you are there and have not received Jesus Christ as your Lord and Saviour, take a bold step and repent and accept Jesus Christ as your Lord and Saviour.
Find a Bible teaching Church of your Choice and attend.
If you  need any further assistance, feel free to  contact me, I will gladly assist accordingly.

May I also hasten to mention that you could be in Church just as a religious believer, and you are even preaching to other people and serving in the house of the Lord, but you don't have a personal relationship with the Lord Jesus.

It is possible to have such people like the five foolish virgin girls, referred to in the scripture above, who lacked something in their spiritual lives, and you may miss it at the coming of the Lord.
Some Bible Scholars may also recall some great men of God who repented after having an encounter with the Lord,  although they had been preaching the gospel for many years, like John Wesley and many others. It is not about your position in church, but your personal relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ, which matters.

Don't be shy, make a bold decision after reading this message and reflect on your personal relationship with the Lord and repent and your life will never be the same again.

As I conclude, you may also be in need of prayers, counselling, deliverance and healing, you can be gladly assisted, as the spirit leads.
Whatever it is, come to the Lord in prayer, He shall meet all your needs. ( Psalm 37:4-5, Philippians 4:19, Matthew 11:28-30).

" PREPARE FOR THE COMING OF CHRIST!"

May God Richly bless you all!
