BE A REMNANT IN HARD TIMES

Greetings in the name of Jesus Christ! Here is the word for your meditation and prayer at such a time as this. The tittle of my message is : "BE A REMNANT IN HARD TIMES"

The Voice Bible in  2 Timothy 3:1-7 says, "And know this: in the last days, times will be hard. You see, the world will be filled with narcissistic, money-grubbing, pretentious, arrogant, and abusive people. They will rebel against their parents and will be ungrateful, unholy, uncaring, coldhearted, accusing, without restraint, savage, and haters of anything good. Expect them to be treacherous, reckless, swollen with self-importance, and given to loving pleasure more than they love God. Even though they may look or act like godly people, they’re not. They deny His power. I tell you: Stay away from the likes of these. They’re snakes slithering into the houses of vulnerable women, women gaudy with sin, to seduce them. These reptiles can capture them because these women are weak and easily swayed by their desires. They seem always to be learning, but they never seem to gain the full measure of the truth. And, just as Jannes and Jambres rose up against Moses, these ungodly people defy the truth. Their minds are corrupt, and their faith is absolutely worthless. But they won’t get too far because their stupidity will be noticed by everyone, just as it was with Jannes and Jambres." Paul challenges Timothy to be prepared. Hard times are coming. Things will go from bad to worse, he warns, because pretentious, hostile, hateful, and betraying people are out there. He tells Timothy to stay away from them and to continue to look to Paul’s example, enduring in love and recalling how Paul himself has followed Jesus. For if Jesus was persecuted, then what should His followers expect for themselves? In the midst of this warning, Paul encourages Timothy. "You have been a good student. You have closely observed how I have lived. You’ve followed my instructions, my habits, my purpose, my faith, my patience. You’ve watched how I love and have seen how I endure. You have been with me through persecutions and sufferings—remember what they did to me in Antioch? In Iconium and Lystra? I endured all of it, and the Lord rescued me from it all!"

Hard times can change a well behaved person of good character to a wild and dangerous person. Looking at what is happening  these days, one is persuaded to believe that these are the end times referred  to by the scripture above, because of moral decadence and trash being experienced in our societies today.

The Church must surely play it's role of shaping the society into maintaining good morals and values. Everyone has a role to play in building good characters and acceptable behaviours in our society.  God is even ashamed and regretting having created man who has dominion over all things, but is now struggling with sin and corruption.

Let us examine ourselves to see whether we are living lives that are upright and acceptable before God. ( Job 1:1) The Bible says, " Even so then at this present time also there is a remnant according to the election of grace" ( Romans 11:5 KJV)

The word " remnant" means a part that is left after the greater part has been used, removed, or destroyed.  In Christian Theology it means " a small minority of people who will remain faithful to God  and so be saved ( in allusion to biblical prophecies concerning Israel). "If any one ceases to be a witness,  he ceases to be one of the remnant"

So by the grace of God, let us be part of the few who  survive innocently, in difficult times.
Be a remnant in difficult times such as this and remain faithful and honest, even when the going is tough.

I know there is a lot of peer pressure out there and human PERSONALITY is being influenced by the environment, but choose to be different and be a remnant at such a time as this.
Be unique, extraordinary, and shun sin and corruption, even in hard times.

When others are moving with the crowd, choose to be a remnant.
Allow the Holy Spirit to lead you in many areas of your lives. ( 2 Timothy 3:16-17, Galatians 5:16-23, 2 Corinthians 13:5-6, John 14:26)

The scripture also says, "The remnant of Israel shall not do iniquity, nor speak lies; neither shall a deceitful tongue be found in their mouth: for they shall feed and lie down, and none shall make them afraid." (Zephaniah 3:13 KJV)

Be a remnant and shun sin and immoral activities, even in hard times.
The remnant shall survive beyond all circumstances and challenges. "BE A REMNANT IN HARD TIMES!" Choose to be different and special in difficult times!

Don't be influenced by circumstances, change the circumstances!
Refuse to be influenced and changed by circumstances! Change the situation!

You can do all things, through Christ who strengthens you.
Be a remnant in Christ Jesus!  ( Philippians 4:13).

May God richly bless you!
