TRUSTING GOD IN HARD TIMES

Greetings in the name of Jesus Christ!  Here is the word for your meditation and prayer! I feel an urge to encourage someone at such a time as this! May I hasten to mention that, "Life is hard".    So where do you turn to, for help, in difficult times? Where do you find encouragement in hard times of life?  The title of my message is:"TRUSTING GOD IN HARD TIMES   Trusting God in hard times will help you stand firm in difficult and hard times. You must always have verses you turn to, when facing tough situations. I know that you also have  some scriptures and verses you always read when you are down, which also help you to rise up again and move on with life. *Do you go on internet to search for answers and solutions? *Do you put a favourite song on replay and lean into familiar melodies that speak to your heart?? *Or, do you go first to prayer and scripture, recalling the promises why you can trust God  in hard times?? In different seasons in the past I would have answered "yes" to each of the options above, but I have now grown in my faith and have now learned that scripture and prayer work best.  ------ GOD IS MORE AVAILABLE AND MORE OF COMFORT THAN YOUR BEST FRIEND IN HARD TIMES. GOD IS WISER THAN ANYTHING THAT YOU MAY IMAGINE OR THINK OF WHEN YOU ARE FACING TOUGH TIMES!!!!!  God's peace which passes all understanding comforts and soothes better than any song or salve. God's promises are stronger  and more powerful than any earthly solution. You must always prepare in advance for those hard times, because they will come. God promises that we will face trials and tribulations in life, but he also promises to walk by our side through it all. So, be ready. The scriptures below are some of my favourites, my ammunition when life gets hard. Take these to heart, memorize them,  write them down, and keep them on standby, waiting for these hard times to pounce on you. When you are facing hard times, pull out these scriptures and prayers as your go - to, and let God carry through and deal with your situation.
The Living Bible in James 1:2-4 says,
[2]"Dear brothers, is your life full of difficulties and temptations? Then be happy,
[3]for when the way is rough, your patience has a chance to grow.
[4]So let it grow, and don’t try to squirm out of your problems. For when your patience is finally in full bloom, then you will be ready for anything, strong in character, full and complete."
The Living Bible in John 16:33
[33]"I have told you all this so that you will have peace of heart and mind. Here on earth you will have many trials and sorrows; but cheer up, for I have overcome the world.”  The Living Bible in Matthew 11:28 says,
[28]"Come to me and I will give you rest—all of you who work so hard beneath a heavy yoke. Wear my yoke—for it fits perfectly—and let me teach you; for I am gentle and humble, and you shall find rest for your souls; for I give you only light burdens.”
The Living Bible in Proverbs 3:4,6 says,
[4](4-5) "If you want favor with both God and man, and a reputation for good judgment and common sense, then trust the Lord completely; don’t ever trust yourself.
[6]In everything you do, put God first, and he will direct you and crown your efforts with success."
The Living Bible in Isaiah 41:10-13 says,
[10]"Fear not, for I am with you. Do not be dismayed. I am your God. I will strengthen you; I will help you; I will uphold you with my victorious right hand.
[11]See, all your angry enemies lie confused and shattered. Anyone opposing you will die.
[12]You will look for them in vain—they will all be gone.
[13]I am holding you by your right hand—I, the Lord your God—and I say to you, Don’t be afraid; I am here to help you."
The Living Bible in Matthew 6:25-31,33-34 says,
[25]“So my counsel is: Don’t worry about things—food, drink, and clothes. For you already have life and a body—and they are far more important than what to eat and wear.
[26]Look at the birds! They don’t worry about what to eat—they don’t need to sow or reap or store up food—for your heavenly Father feeds them. And you are far more valuable to him than they are.
[27]Will all your worries add a single moment to your life?
[28]“And why worry about your clothes? Look at the field lilies! They don’t worry about theirs.
[29]Yet King Solomon in all his glory was not clothed as beautifully as they.
[30]And if God cares so wonderfully for flowers that are here today and gone tomorrow, won’t he more surely care for you, O men of little faith?
[31](31-32) “So don’t worry at all about having enough food and clothing. Why be like the heathen? For they take pride in all these things and are deeply concerned about them. But your heavenly Father already knows perfectly well that you need them,
[33]and he will give them to you if you give him first place in your life and live as he wants you to.
[34]“So don’t be anxious about tomorrow. God will take care of your tomorrow too. Live one day at a time."
The Living Bible in  2 Chronicles 20:15-17 says,
[15]“Listen to me, all you people of Judah and Jerusalem, and you, O king Jehoshaphat!” he exclaimed. “The Lord says, ‘Don’t be afraid! Don’t be paralyzed by this mighty army! For the battle is not yours, but God’s!
[16]Tomorrow, go down and attack them! You will find them coming up the slopes of Ziz at the end of the valley that opens into the wilderness of Jeruel.
[17]But you will not need to fight! Take your places; stand quietly and see the incredible rescue operation God will perform for you, O people of Judah and Jerusalem! Don’t be afraid or discouraged! Go out there tomorrow, for the Lord is with you!’”
The Living Bible in Isaiah 40:29-31
[29]"He gives power to the tired and worn out, and strength to the weak.
[30]Even the youths shall be exhausted, and the young men will all give up.
[31]But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength. They shall mount up with wings like eagles; they shall run and not be weary; they shall walk and not faint."
The Living Bible in Isaiah 61:1-3 says,
[1]"The Spirit of the Lord God is upon me, because the Lord has anointed me to bring good news to the suffering and afflicted. He has sent me to comfort the brokenhearted, to announce liberty to captives, and to open the eyes of the blind.
[2]He has sent me to tell those who mourn that the time of God’s favor to them has come, and the day of his wrath to their enemies.
[3]To all who mourn in Israel he will give: beauty for ashes; joy instead of mourning; praise instead of heaviness. For God has planted them like strong and graceful oaks for his own glory". The Living Bible in Matthew 19:26 says,
[26]"Jesus looked at them intently and said, “Humanly speaking, no one. But with God, everything is possible.”
The Living Bible in Philippians 4:4-7 says,
[4]"Always be full of joy in the Lord; I say it again, rejoice!
[5]Let everyone see that you are unselfish and considerate in all you do. Remember that the Lord is coming soon.
[6]Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything; tell God your needs, and don’t forget to thank him for his answers.
[7]If you do this, you will experience God’s peace, which is far more wonderful than the human mind can understand. His peace will keep your thoughts and your hearts quiet and at rest as you trust in Christ Jesus." All the above scriptures are very helpful during hard times. Try to ensure that you always stay connected to the Lord in prayer and the word, you will find comfort and strength in the Lord. Just pray this prayer and say, "Lord Jesus, I need you. I am weary and the burdens are great. I am not sure how much more I can bear. Will you help carry these burdens for a while? Can I come to you and walk your side? I need your rest for my soul, your comfort for my heart. For I know you are gentle  and loving, kind and compassionate. You will lead me and show me the way. You will carry the burden and fill my soul with rest in you might God. Thank you for how much you love me LORD. In  the name of Jesus Christ we pray- Amen!

May God richly bless you!

MARRIAGE IS A COVENANT AND NOT A CONTRACT

Greetings in the name of Jesus Christ! Here is the word for your meditation and prayer! I am delighted to share the message of empowerment and hope at such a time as this. The title of the message is:"MARRIAGE IS A COVENANT AND NOT A CONTRACT"  The Amplified Bible in Matthew 19:6 says,
[6]"So they are no longer two, but one flesh. What therefore God has joined together, let not man put asunder (separate)." May I hasten to mention that a Marriage covenant joins two people as husband and wife to become one flesh. Therefore as the husband and wife are one flesh, it means when the wife or husband falls sick, both of them must feel the pain, as they are expected to feel and sympathize for one another. When people get married they are expected to both leave their parents and live together as a couple, and not to continue behaving like mum and dad's babies, by not wanting to be independent as married couple. You are expected to cleave to each other like glue. However, some of the practices in the African culture that work adversely on cleaving processes between couples are:    a) The man cannot be glued to his wife when his parents force his wife to stay in the rural areas.           b) Some parents do not allow married couples to leave the family home until they authorize them to do so.           .             c)Being forced to look after extended family members can prevent proper cleaving as husband and wife.                        d) The parents may force their daughter to continue supporting them financially, as a way of trying to compensate them from their childhood financial support.             e) A man cannot be glued to his wife when parents continue to treat him like a child, although he will be married, as they continue to control and direct him like a baby. Likewise the woman cannot be glued to her husband if she frequently spends more time with her parents, instead of spending more time with her husband, in order to be bonded and glued together.
The Living Bible in Malachi 2:14-16 says,7
[14]“Why has God abandoned us?” you cry. I’ll tell you why; it is because the Lord has seen your treachery in divorcing your wives who have been faithful to you through the years, the companions you promised to care for and keep.
[15]You were united to your wife by the Lord. In God’s wise plan, when you married, the two of you became one person in his sight. And what does he want? Godly children from your union. Therefore, guard your passions! Keep faith with the wife of your youth.
[16]For the Lord, the God of Israel, says he hates divorce and cruel men. Therefore, control your passions—let there be no divorcing of your wives." This scripture although it is also referring to Israel who are God' s chosen people as wife and husband in the spiritual form as Christians, it is also in a way an example of a marriage covenant between a husband and wife. Here there is an emphasis of faithfulness in marriages. We need to respect the marriage covenant by remaining faithful to one another for life. Don't cheat and don't step out in your marriage.Remain faithful and caring all the time.Love to love,  and love to be loved.
The Living  Bible in Genesis 2:24 says,
[24]"This explains why a man leaves his father and mother and is joined to his wife in such a way that the two become one person." What is a marriage covenant?? The marriage covenant which means a strong commitment and loyalty, even unto death between a man and his wife was established  by God at the beginning of human history, when he created the heavens and the earth, according to the above scripture. While some African customs could undermine the principles of the marriage covenant, God being the creator of marriage, has the right to tell us which principles should govern our marital relationships. A woman in some African culture is not only married to her husband, but is a wife to all her husband's paternal  relatives, such as young brothers and cousins, an issue which is against God's principles of marriage covenant of only serving one husband for the rest of one's life.
The Living Bible in Titus 2:4-5 says,
[4]"These older women must train the younger women to live quietly, to love their husbands and their children,
[5]and to be sensible and clean minded, spending their time in their own homes, being kind and obedient to their husbands so that the Christian faith can’t be spoken against by those who know them." So as the above scripture states, marriage is supposed to be a sacred and permanent covenant,  established and witnessed by God himself and not men.    As confirmed earlier in Genesis 2:24 a man and a woman must leave their parents and cleave to one another as one flesh. But some African customs undermine this God's requirement, when the marriage is bonded by  (marooro, lobola or dowry), especially if the man fails to pay what is expected of him by his wife's parents, it may have serious implications on the couple's marriage.
The Living Bible in Ephesians 5:33 says,
[33]So again I say, a man must love his wife as a part of himself; and the wife must see to it that she deeply respects her husband—obeying, praising, and honoring him." This verse in Ephesians 5:33, emphasizes the need for the husband to unconditionally love his wife. In the same vain the wife must respect and obey her husband unconditionally. The submission to husbands mentioned in the scripture, does not mean oppression, but should be in the form of humility and loving attitude.
The Living Bible in Proverbs 18:22 says,
[22]"The man who finds a wife finds a good thing; she is a blessing to him from the Lord." A wife is a blessing and a helper from God, and  therefore must be treated with a loving and compassionate heart.
The Living Bible in 1 Peter 3:7 says,
[7]"You husbands must be careful of your wives, being thoughtful of their needs and honoring them as the weaker sex. Remember that you and your wife are partners in receiving God’s blessings, and if you don’t treat her as you should, your prayers will not get ready answers." Men who abuse and mistreat their wives,  can miss some blessings as  couples. The husband is the breadwinner, and must always ensure that the family, that is, your wife and children have adequate food provisions, shelter and enough security, God being your helper. The wife must also be hardworking as well like in Proverbs 31 ( a virtuous woman). Don't be provocative, because you may attract evil spirits and chase away the Holy spirit through anger and fighting.( Ephesians 4:26-31)
The Living Bible in Hebrews 13:4 says,
[4]"Honor your marriage and its vows, and be pure; for God will surely punish all those who are immoral or commit adultery."
The Living Bible in Luke 16:18 says,
[18]“So anyone who divorces his wife and marries someone else commits adultery, and anyone who marries a divorced woman commits adultery.”   The Living Bible in Matthew 19:9 says,
[9]"And I tell you this, that anyone who divorces his wife, except for fornication, and marries another, commits adultery.”
Living Bible in 1 Corinthians 7:2 says,
[2]"But usually it is best to be married, each man having his own wife, and each woman having her own husband, because otherwise you might fall back into sin."  So marriage is a necessity for all living beings.                   The Amplified Bible in Ezekiel 16:8 says,
[8]Now I passed by you again and looked upon you; behold, you were maturing and at the time for love, and I spread My skirt over you and covered your nakedness. Yes, I plighted My troth to you and entered into a covenant with you, says the Lord, and you became Mine." A marriage is not a contract, but a covenant between God and the married couple. A marriage  contract has an expiry date, but a marriage covenant lasts forever until death seperates you. The Bible says," What therefore God has joined together, let no man put asunder"( Mark 10:5-9). However, due to African customs and beliefs, when a woman fails to conceive a baby the husband's parents and relatives may influence the man to divorce his wife, although the marriage covenant in the Bible does not allow it. A marriage is sacred. Being a sacred covenant, human marriage serves in the old and new Testament as the prism through which God reveals his covenant relationship with his people and Christ with his church. Once again a marriage is not a contract, but a covenant, and therefore let us all respect this union, between two people. Let there be no wrong advice and influce from outside forces. Always seek proper counseling and conflict resolution dialogues. Stop the blame game, in a marriage set up. Tolerate one another, and forgive each other! Be prepared to compomise your pride, and ask for forgiveness, even if it is not you who has offended the other.   For those who are preparing or intending to marry, take this advice and teaching seriously, before deciding otherwise. Don't rash into a marriage covenant, before calculating and preparing, because it is a lifetime covenant in which you must make the right decision and choice, so that you will not regret later. Love, tolerate, appreciate, commend and feel for one another, in a marriage covenant, all the time!

May God richly bless you!

HONOUR COMES AFTER HUMILITY

Greetings in name of Jesus Christ! Here is a message for your meditation and prayer! I am delighted to share a message of hope and encouragement at such a time as this. The title of my message is: "HONOUR COMES AFTER HUMILITY" The Living Bible in Proverbs 15:33 says, " Humility and reverence for the Lord will make you both wise and honored."  Humiliation of soul always brings a positive blessing with it. If we empty our hearts of self, God will fill them with His love. He who desires close communion with Christ should remember the word of the Lord, " To this man will I look, even to him that is poor and of contrite spirit, and trembleth at My Word." ( Psalm 51:17) Stoop if you would climb to heaven. Do we not say of Jesus, " He descended that he may ascend"? so must you.( Ephesians 4:8-10) You must grow downwards, that you may grow upwards; for the sweetest fellowship with heaven is to be experienced by humble souls, and by them alone. God will deny no blessing to a  thoroughly humbled  spirit. Matthew 5:3 says, " Blessed are the poor in spirit: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven," with all its  riches and  treasures. The scripture in Proverbs 22:4 also says, "True humility and respect for the Lord lead a man to riches, honor, and long life."(Living Bible) The whole exchequer of God shall be made over by deed of gift to the soul which is humble enough to be able to receive it without growing proud because of it. God blesses us all up to the full measure and extremity of what it is safe for Him to do. If you do not get a blessing, it is because it is not safe for you to have one. Some blesings will not come to us or manifest until we mature. James 4:2-3 says, " ..........And even if you do ask  you don't get it because your whole aim is wrong - you want only what will give you pleasure" If our heavenly Father were to let your unhumbled spirit win a victory in His holy war, you would pilfer the crown for yourself, and meeting with a fresh enemy you would fall a victim; so that you are not kept low for your own safety.
The Bible also says, " Humble yourselves  ( feeling very insignificant) in the presence of the Lord,  and He will exalt  you ( He will lift you up and make your lives significant)( James 4:10) Humility exalts and lifts you up! When a man is sincerely humble, and never ventures to touch so much as a grain of praise, there is scarcely any limit to what God will do for him. Humility makes us ready to be blessed by the God of all grace,  and fits us to deal efficiently with our fellow men. True humility is a flower which will adorn any garden. This is the sauce with which you may season every dish of life, and you will find an improvement in every case. Whether it be prayer or praise, whether it be work or suffering, the genuine salt of humility cannot be used is excess. The scripture also says," He must become greater and greater, and I must become less and less. Jesus will be made more manifest in you, if you ground to zero, in humility. The more you humble yourself, the more you attract divine favour and elevation. Sink to the ground first, in order to shoot to the top. Be like your role model Jesus, who chose to remain humble and was exalted and given the name that is above all other names, due to His humility and love. " Let this same attitude and purpose and ( Humble) mind be in you which was in Christ Jesus:( Let  Him be your example in humility: ) ( Philippians 2:5-11). Humility is constructive, but pride is destructive. Be humble to receive honour and respect.  Be humble to attract riches and honour! Be humble to attract divine favour and abundant grace! I pray that you continue to experience God's resurrection power everyday, as you remain humble and faithful to God.

May God richly bless you!

DID SATAN APPEAR PHYSICALLY TO TEMPT JESUS, OR DID HE ONLY APPEAR IN JESUS'S MIND?

Greetings in the name of Jesus Christ! How are you family of God? I hope it is well with you. I want to share about some of the questions that are usually asked by Christian believers! I love people/  believers who ask questions like those at Berea in the Bible.( Acts 17:11) The title of my message is:" Did Satan Appear Physically to Tempt Jesus, or Did He Only Appear in Jesus's Mind?" The scripture in Matthew 4:3 says,  " And when the tempter came to him, he said, If thou be the Son of God,  command that these stones be made bread." Satan has a celestial body as per scripture in 1 Corinthians 15:40. We can not see him but we know as per the word of God that he is a real person and now his realm of operations is predominantly the planet earth. We are told about his throne in Revelations 2:13.  But our Lord as the Son  of God, being the second revealed person of the Trinity, could see him and thus He interacted with satan as a real person as we interact with each other as terrestrial beings. Don't forget that a day is coming when satan will be bound and cast into the bottomless pit, and shut him up, and set a seal upon him,........(Revelation 20:2-3)". But now our eyes are not opened to see him. Celestial beings like angels of The Lord were visible to human beings Think of Mary seeing Gabariel; even Daniel seeing Michael. So I believe  that the Lord Jesus faced the devil as a real person and not His mental realm. From what I can see,  the words "came" and "said" used in the book of Matthew referring to people physically  approaching, audibly speaking. The dialogue seems to indicate that Satan appeared to Jesus physically. Is is possible that Satan was present but not in physical form that we could see but still conversed with Christ? I suppose it could be. But as the temptation reflects back upon the temptation of Adam abd Eve in the garden where Satan did take phsical form  ( albeit a snake), I don't see any compelling reason to think that Satan did not have physical form throughout this temptation.  Let us desire spiritual gifts in order to see im the  spiritual realm. Remember, Elisha's servant saw physically the army of Syria which had come attack them, but could not see in the spiritual realm the army of the Lord that was present to protect them, until Elisha prayed and his spiritual eyes where opened. ( 2 Kings 6:14-17) We may all be Christians  or pastors, but the giftings are not the same. Some people have the ability to see what others can't see. I have an experience where I see demons or evil spirits on a person who is possessed, but others may not see that. We all have different gifts. There are many times where Jesus would say Satan get off my back, but his disciples would not see it. You can see evil spirits and witches, if you are anointed and Spirit filled, with a certain gift upon you. Some related questions which are always asked by other believers  are:Why is it that Mary Magdalene did not recognize Jesus when He appeared to her? Why did Satan tempt Jesus when he had no sin nature? Why did Jesus appear in a special way to Mary Magdalene and with no others at the tomb? Why Jesus say He was sent only to the lost sheep of Israel? Why did Jesus instruct  us to pray' lead us not into temptation ' when God states that He does not tempt us?What did sacrifices have to do with the Lord's appearing?    Hope this is clear and will assist many other people accordingly!

Stay blessed and protected in the name of Jesus Christ!
