TRUSTING GOD IN HARD TIMES

Greetings in the name of Jesus Christ!  Here is the word for your meditation and prayer! I feel an urge to encourage someone at such a time as this! May I hasten to mention that, "Life is hard".    So where do you turn to, for help, in difficult times? Where do you find encouragement in hard times of life?  The title of my message is:"TRUSTING GOD IN HARD TIMES   Trusting God in hard times will help you stand firm in difficult and hard times. You must always have verses you turn to, when facing tough situations. I know that you also have  some scriptures and verses you always read when you are down, which also help you to rise up again and move on with life. *Do you go on internet to search for answers and solutions? *Do you put a favourite song on replay and lean into familiar melodies that speak to your heart?? *Or, do you go first to prayer and scripture, recalling the promises why you can trust God  in hard times?? In different seasons in the past I would have answered "yes" to each of the options above, but I have now grown in my faith and have now learned that scripture and prayer work best.  ------ GOD IS MORE AVAILABLE AND MORE OF COMFORT THAN YOUR BEST FRIEND IN HARD TIMES. GOD IS WISER THAN ANYTHING THAT YOU MAY IMAGINE OR THINK OF WHEN YOU ARE FACING TOUGH TIMES!!!!!  God's peace which passes all understanding comforts and soothes better than any song or salve. God's promises are stronger  and more powerful than any earthly solution. You must always prepare in advance for those hard times, because they will come. God promises that we will face trials and tribulations in life, but he also promises to walk by our side through it all. So, be ready. The scriptures below are some of my favourites, my ammunition when life gets hard. Take these to heart, memorize them,  write them down, and keep them on standby, waiting for these hard times to pounce on you. When you are facing hard times, pull out these scriptures and prayers as your go - to, and let God carry through and deal with your situation.
The Living Bible in James 1:2-4 says,
[2]"Dear brothers, is your life full of difficulties and temptations? Then be happy,
[3]for when the way is rough, your patience has a chance to grow.
[4]So let it grow, and don’t try to squirm out of your problems. For when your patience is finally in full bloom, then you will be ready for anything, strong in character, full and complete."
The Living Bible in John 16:33
[33]"I have told you all this so that you will have peace of heart and mind. Here on earth you will have many trials and sorrows; but cheer up, for I have overcome the world.”  The Living Bible in Matthew 11:28 says,
[28]"Come to me and I will give you rest—all of you who work so hard beneath a heavy yoke. Wear my yoke—for it fits perfectly—and let me teach you; for I am gentle and humble, and you shall find rest for your souls; for I give you only light burdens.”
The Living Bible in Proverbs 3:4,6 says,
[4](4-5) "If you want favor with both God and man, and a reputation for good judgment and common sense, then trust the Lord completely; don’t ever trust yourself.
[6]In everything you do, put God first, and he will direct you and crown your efforts with success."
The Living Bible in Isaiah 41:10-13 says,
[10]"Fear not, for I am with you. Do not be dismayed. I am your God. I will strengthen you; I will help you; I will uphold you with my victorious right hand.
[11]See, all your angry enemies lie confused and shattered. Anyone opposing you will die.
[12]You will look for them in vain—they will all be gone.
[13]I am holding you by your right hand—I, the Lord your God—and I say to you, Don’t be afraid; I am here to help you."
The Living Bible in Matthew 6:25-31,33-34 says,
[25]“So my counsel is: Don’t worry about things—food, drink, and clothes. For you already have life and a body—and they are far more important than what to eat and wear.
[26]Look at the birds! They don’t worry about what to eat—they don’t need to sow or reap or store up food—for your heavenly Father feeds them. And you are far more valuable to him than they are.
[27]Will all your worries add a single moment to your life?
[28]“And why worry about your clothes? Look at the field lilies! They don’t worry about theirs.
[29]Yet King Solomon in all his glory was not clothed as beautifully as they.
[30]And if God cares so wonderfully for flowers that are here today and gone tomorrow, won’t he more surely care for you, O men of little faith?
[31](31-32) “So don’t worry at all about having enough food and clothing. Why be like the heathen? For they take pride in all these things and are deeply concerned about them. But your heavenly Father already knows perfectly well that you need them,
[33]and he will give them to you if you give him first place in your life and live as he wants you to.
[34]“So don’t be anxious about tomorrow. God will take care of your tomorrow too. Live one day at a time."
The Living Bible in  2 Chronicles 20:15-17 says,
[15]“Listen to me, all you people of Judah and Jerusalem, and you, O king Jehoshaphat!” he exclaimed. “The Lord says, ‘Don’t be afraid! Don’t be paralyzed by this mighty army! For the battle is not yours, but God’s!
[16]Tomorrow, go down and attack them! You will find them coming up the slopes of Ziz at the end of the valley that opens into the wilderness of Jeruel.
[17]But you will not need to fight! Take your places; stand quietly and see the incredible rescue operation God will perform for you, O people of Judah and Jerusalem! Don’t be afraid or discouraged! Go out there tomorrow, for the Lord is with you!’”
The Living Bible in Isaiah 40:29-31
[29]"He gives power to the tired and worn out, and strength to the weak.
[30]Even the youths shall be exhausted, and the young men will all give up.
[31]But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength. They shall mount up with wings like eagles; they shall run and not be weary; they shall walk and not faint."
The Living Bible in Isaiah 61:1-3 says,
[1]"The Spirit of the Lord God is upon me, because the Lord has anointed me to bring good news to the suffering and afflicted. He has sent me to comfort the brokenhearted, to announce liberty to captives, and to open the eyes of the blind.
[2]He has sent me to tell those who mourn that the time of God’s favor to them has come, and the day of his wrath to their enemies.
[3]To all who mourn in Israel he will give: beauty for ashes; joy instead of mourning; praise instead of heaviness. For God has planted them like strong and graceful oaks for his own glory". The Living Bible in Matthew 19:26 says,
[26]"Jesus looked at them intently and said, “Humanly speaking, no one. But with God, everything is possible.”
The Living Bible in Philippians 4:4-7 says,
[4]"Always be full of joy in the Lord; I say it again, rejoice!
[5]Let everyone see that you are unselfish and considerate in all you do. Remember that the Lord is coming soon.
[6]Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything; tell God your needs, and don’t forget to thank him for his answers.
[7]If you do this, you will experience God’s peace, which is far more wonderful than the human mind can understand. His peace will keep your thoughts and your hearts quiet and at rest as you trust in Christ Jesus." All the above scriptures are very helpful during hard times. Try to ensure that you always stay connected to the Lord in prayer and the word, you will find comfort and strength in the Lord. Just pray this prayer and say, "Lord Jesus, I need you. I am weary and the burdens are great. I am not sure how much more I can bear. Will you help carry these burdens for a while? Can I come to you and walk your side? I need your rest for my soul, your comfort for my heart. For I know you are gentle  and loving, kind and compassionate. You will lead me and show me the way. You will carry the burden and fill my soul with rest in you might God. Thank you for how much you love me LORD. In  the name of Jesus Christ we pray- Amen!

May God richly bless you!
