ARE YOU PONDERING OR WORRYING?

Greetings in the name of Jesus Christ! Here is the word for your meditation and prayer!
The title of my message is: " ARE YOU PONDERING OR  WORRYING?."
The Bible says, " Don't fret or worry.  Instead of worrying, pray.  Let petitions and praises shape your worries into prayers, letting God know your concerns. Before you know it, a sense of God's wholeness, everything coming together  for good, will come and settle you down. It's wonderful  what happens when Christ displaces worry at the centre of your life. " ( Philippians 4:6-7 MSG)

Anxiety and worry may create unsettlement and uncertainty, even at a time such as this, when we are in the Covid-19 lockdown.
At this point you may be saying, " But we are not supposed to be ignorant, never knowing what is going on." I agree.

As we shall see in the following passage, when the angel came and appeared to
Mary and spoke to her about conceiving and giving birth to the promised Messiah, she pondered,  or thought  about, those things: " The angel said to her, Do not be afraid, Mary, for you have found grace ( free, spontaneous, absolute  favour and loving- kindness) with God. And listen! You will become pregnant and will give birth to a Son, and you shall call His name Jesus. He will be great ( eminent) and will be called the Son of the Most High; and the Lord God will give to Him the throne of His forefather David, and He will reign over the house of Jacob throughout the ages; and of His reign there will be no end......  Then Mary said, Behold, I am the handmaiden of the Lord; let it be done to me according to what you have said. And the angel left her ....But Mary was keeping within herself all these things ( sayings), weighing and pondering them in her heart. " ( Luke 1:30-33, 38, Luke 2:19)

As Jesus grew up, although Mary knew what the Lord had told her about His being the Saviour of His people, she didn't really understand it all - just as Jesus' disciples didn't understand everything He taught them. I don't believe there is anything wrong with pondering some things in our hearts as Marry did. Many times it is while we are pondering or meditating on something  that God gives us revelation or understanding. (Joshua 1:8) But it is one thing to ponder; it is another thing to worry. I think that when we are pondering, in a sense we are praying. We are saying, " Lord, I don't know what this means. I don't really understand it. I need some direction." That is different from sitting around trying to figure it out.
You may  wonder, How can I tell when I cross over the line? As soon as you become confused, you have left off pondering and gone into excessive reasoning. Excessive reasoning brings worry, fear and confusion.  That is a very good indicator to remember. It is one that God taught me.

Remember that as soon as confusion creeps in, it is the devil, because confusion is not  from God.
I urge you not to panic and worry, when you receive a surprise visit or an angelic visitation during the night or day.

You may miss out on your blessings if you don't find time to quietly ponder and hear what the Spirit of God is saying about your life.
God is still saying something! He speaks in many ways at night or during the day,  in a dream, vision or prophetic declarations.  ( Job 33:14-33).

Listen to the right voice!  Don't panic or worry!
Once again," ARE YOU PONDERING OR WORRYING? Stop worrying and ponder in order to receive revelation from God.

Don't miss your blessings and breakthrough!
Wait expectantly! ( Psalm 62:5)
Don't doubt!

May God richly bless you all!

ARE YOU TAKING CARE OF AN ISHMAEL?

Greetings in the name of Jesus Christ! Here is the word for your meditation and prayer!
The title of my message is:" ARE YOU TAKING CARE OF AN ISHMAEL?"
May I hasten to mention that there are things in life we  quickly force ourselves into and end up failing to come out, but remain in that mess for a long time. Quick fixes and short cuts, usual lead people into formidable predicaments.

Abraham and his wife Sarah became impatient despite God's promise that they were going to be Father and Mother of many nations.
God promised to multiply Abraham and make him the father  of many nations even after the birth of Hagar's baby, who was named Ishmael.

The Bible says, "When Abraham was ninety -nine years old, the Lord appeared to him and said, I am the Almighty God; walk and  live habitually before Me and be perfect ( blameless, wholehearted, complete). And I will make My covenant ( solemn pledge) between Me and you and will multiply you exceedingly. Then Abraham fell on hid face, and God said to him, As  for Me, behold, My covenant ( solemn pledge ) is with you, and you shall be the father of many nations. Nor shall your name any longer be Abram ( high, exalted father); but your name shall be Abraham ( father of a multitude), for I have made you the father of many nations. " ( Genesis  17:1-5)

It had been nearly  twenty years since God first promised a son to Abraham and Sarah.
All this time, Abraham and his family had been taking care of Ishmael, trying to raise him.
Ishmael  was a man of war and was engaged in warfare most of his life.
Hagar and Sarah had been fighting, and Abraham had been caught in the middle. I am sure it was not fun time for any of them.

Although it is not recorded in the  Bible, it is easy to imagine what it must have been like around Abraham"s house  during that period.
By this time, Abraham and Sarah were wondering about the child God had promised them.( Genesis 15:1-6, Genesis  18:12-14)

I am sure they could not  understand  why it was taking God so long to fulfill His promise to them. I don't think they would have had to wait twenty years if they had not had Ishmael. If they had not become impatient and made their own plan, which resulted in Ishmael's birth, I think the birth of Isaac would have taken place much sooner.

As did Abraham and Sarah, once we have given birth to an Ishmael, we have to spend many  years taking care of it.
Once we have complicated our lives, it takes a while to clean things up.
Have you ever made a mess that took you longer to get out of than it did to get into?
Have you done some things in your life that you wish you hadn't done?

Most of us have, and consequences follow every action.
If you are dealing with the consequences of an Ishmael, it does not mean that God will not bless you. But those consequences may delay receiving God's best for your life.
They may also delay receiving your Isaac.

Wait upon the Lord for your Isaac. ( Isaiah 40:31)
If you rush for Ishmael, you will delay your Isaac.
Some of you are in your current position or situation because you rushed for an Ishmael instead of patiently waiting for Isaac's time to be born in your life.

The consequences of rushing for things, result in one settling for the wrong things in life.
It could be marriage, employment, relationship  or even a project, wait to hear from God, than rushing to settle for a half baked cake or an Ishmael.

Commit all your plans to God and you will succeed.  ( Proverbs 16:3).
Patience and endurance is what you need before receiving your promise.  ( Hebrews 35-39).

Once again if I may ask" Are You Taking Care  of an Ishmael?"
You know your response! Just respond and you will be set free in the name of Jesus.

Remember, if you are still taking care of an Ishmael your Isaac will be delayed.

May God richly bless you!

OFFENSE DENIES YOU PEACE

Greetings in the name of Jesus Christ! Here is the word for your meditation and prayer!
Once again I want to mention that offense and unforgiveness can deny you breakthroughs and blessings.
Furthermore, offense and unforgiveness can also deny you freedom and peace.  The title  of my message is: " OFFENSE DENIES YOU PEACE"

The Bible  says, " Work at getting along with each other and with God. Otherwise you 'll never get so much as a glimpse of God." ( Hebrews 12:14 MSG)
Living a life of contentment is your choice. So is living in offense is also your choice.
And, of course, offense will prevent you from being content. Not only will offense deny you contentment, but it can stop you from sleeping at night, from digesting food properly, and if that is not enough, it will cause great difficulty in your relationships.

Offense and unforgiveness, will also prevent you from working at peak performance in your job.
You won't be able to think efficiently when working on your finances and paying your bills. Basically, when you lack contentment, you will not be all that God intends for you to be.
Lastly, you will not be at peace in life when you are harbouring  offense in your heart.

Although we have all had wrong things done to us, what others do is of little importance.
However, what you do is critical. There will always be someone who comes against you, or someone who will lie to you or lie about you. There will always be untrustworthy people who will always try to steal from you. In fact, it doesn't matter how good  a person you are, there will always be people who talk badly about you behind your back. People criticized Jesus, lied about Him, and became offended with Him. And because they mistreated Jesus, they will mistreat you.

Jesus warned about this ill- treatment in Matthew 10:24-25 saying, "A disciple is not above his teacher, nor a servant above his master.
It is enough for a disciple that he be like his teacher, and a servant like his master.
If they have called  the master of the house Beelzebub, how much more will they call those of his household."

Since Jesus  was treated badly, what makes you think you can avoid these things?
Certainly you don't consider yourself greater than the master, do you?
Jesus said in John 16:33,  " In the world you will have tribulation; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world."

Although Jesus warned us that we would have trouble, His focus was on the  fact that He overcame; therefore, we can overcome!
The Apostle Paul was not only familiar with trouble, but he experienced victory as well.
In 2 Corinthians 4:8-11, he described the attitude he held toward difficulty:" We are hard pressed on every side, yet not crushed; we are perplexed, but not in despair; persecuted, but not forsaken, struck down, but not destroyed-  always carrying about in the body the dying of the Lord Jesus, that the life of Jesus may be manifested in our body. For we who live are always delivered to death  for Jesus' sake, that the life of Jesus also may be manifested in our mortal flesh."

Notice the uplifting way of thinking  Paul maintained toward  difficult times.
He had every reason to be discontent; however, he chose to rejoice in the goodness of God. Make the determination today to adopt Paul's attitude towards difficult times, as well as towards difficult people.

Learn to be content regardless of the circumstances. And as you apply what you learn to godliness, you will begin to experience great gain. So as you have seen offense and unforgiveness can deny you peace and freedom.
Try to live a peaceful and quiet life.

Avoid by all means possible everything which may lead to anger, fighting and hurt.
Remember, "Offense and Unforgiveness, deny you Peace and Freedom!"

May God richly bless you all!

HAVE WE NO TEARS FOR REVIVAL

Greetings in the name of Jesus Christ! Here is the word for your meditation and prayer! I continue to have the urge and push to preach the good news  of Christ in season and out of season. ( 2 Timothy 4:2-5). The title of my message today is:" HAVE WE NO TEARS FOR REVIVAL?"

The Bible  says, " They that saw in tears shall reap in joy."( Psalm 126:5). If there are no tears, hard work, sweating, and fainting, then there cannot be any  reaping and harvesting.  This is the divine edict. When we have tears for revival as preachers and teachers of the Gospel, it is more than preaching with zeal. This is more than scholarly exposition. This is more than delivering sermons  of exegetical exactitude and homiletical perfection. Such a person, whether preacher or pew dweller, is appalled at the shrinking authority of the Church in the present drama of cruelty in the world.  And he cringes with sorrow that men turn a deaf ear to the Gospel and willingly risk eternal hell in the process. Under this complex burden, his heart is crushed to tears.

One of the greatest preacher and my mentor of our time Leonard Ravenhill said, " The true man of God is heartsick, grieved at the worldliness of the Church, grieved at the blindness of the Church, grieved at the corruption  in the Church, grieved at the toleration of sin in Church, grieved at the prayerlessness in the Church. He is disturbed that  the corporate prayer of the Church no longer pulls down the strongholds of the devil.( 2 Corinthians 10:3-6)  He is embarrassed that the Church folks no longer cry in their despair before a devil- ridden, sin- mad society," " Why could we not cast him out?"( Matthew 17:19).

Many of us have no heart-sickness for the former glory of the Church, because we have never known what true revival is.
We stagnate in the status quo and sleep easy at night while our generation moves swiftly to the eternal night of hell. Shame, shame on us!

Jesus  whipped some  money changers out of the temple; but before He whipped them, He wept over them. He knew how near their judgement was. The Apostle  Paul sent a tear- stained letter to the Philippian saints, writing:" I have told you often and now tell you even weeping, that  they are the enemies of the cross of Christ" ( Philippians 3:18). Notice that he does not say they are enemies of Christ, they are, rather, the enemies of the cross of Christ. They deny or diminish the redemptive values of the cross. There are many like this today.

The Church of Rome does not stand as an enemy of Christ; it traces heavily on His holy name. Yet it denies the cross by saying that the Blessed Virgin is co- redemptive. If this is so, why was she not also crucified? The Mormons use the name of Christ, yet they are astray on the atonement. Have we tears for them? Shall we face them without a blush when they accuse us of inertia at the  judgement Seat saying that they were  our neighbours  and an offense to us, but not a burden because they were lost?

In my research I hear  that the Salvationists can scarcely read their flaming evangelical history without tears.
Has the glory also of the evangelical revival under  John Wesley ever gripped the hearts of the Methodists of today? Have they read  of the fire - baptized men in Wesley's team?

Men like John Nelson, Thomas Walsh, and a host of others whose names are written in the Book of Life; men persecuted and kicked in the streets when they held street meetings?
Yet as their  blood flowed from their wounds, their tears flowed from their eyes. Yet today  we have few men and women who have tears for the gospel of Christ. Many preach for self- profiting and self- gratification, instead of God's glory.( 2 Corinthians 2:17)

Many people perish in their sins because of lack of knowledge, without any one telling them of the eternal love of Christ Jesus.( Hosea 4:6)
Do the Pentecostals also look back with shame as they remember when they dwelt across the theological tracks, but with the glory  of the Lord in the midst?
When they had a normal Church life, which meant nights of prayers, followed by signs and wonders, and diverse miracles,  and genuine gifts of the Holy Ghost?
When they were no clock watchers, and their meetings lasted for hours, saturated with Holy Ghost power?

Have we no  tears for these memories, or shame that our children know nothing of such power? Other denominations had their Glory Days of revival.
Think of the mighty visitations and the earth- shaking revivals that used to take place many years ago. Are those days gone forever? Have we no tears for revival?

The church is now full of lukewarm believers who are content with the mediocre.
You may not know whether they are cold or warm, because they deny the mighty move of the Holy Ghost Fire! ( Revelation 3:15-16, Acts 4:30-32)
The Church must have tears for a great revival that will see many souls being brought to Christ, as well as being healed and delivered from many sicknesses and diseases like in Jesus's days.( Matthew 4:23-24).

Even at such a time as this, the world must have tears for a great revival, in order to save people from this COVID-19 pandemic.
The world, continents and nations all over, must have tears for revival.
The Church must not be a sleeping giant at such a time as this, but wake up and cry for a great revival, in order to save mankind from perishing. ( Ephesians 5:14-16).

Let us redeem the times because the days are evil. Many people are toiling and suffering, because of the prevailing circumstances and therefore let rise up and shine as the Church of God, in order  to restore confidence and hope in people's lives.

The Bible says, " Arise, shine; for thy light is come, and the glory of the Lord is risen upon thee............". ( Isaiah 60:1-2). Arise and shine, for a great revival is coming to save  Nations across the whole world. " HAVE YOU NO TEARS FOR REVIVAL?" WAKE UP! Don't sleep like babies!  Have tears  for revival!

May God richly bless you all!

AN OVERLY -FAMILIAR ATTITUDE

Greetings in the name of Jesus Christ! Here is the word for your meditation and prayer this morning. I continue to share the word of encouragement concerning offenses that  are triggered by different actions and behaviours in life. The title of my message is:" AN OVERLY - FAMILIAR  ATTITUDE"

It is very common that when people get overly- familiar with you they lose respect on you, even if you deserve recognition and respect because of the office or portfolio which you hold in society. Furthermore, even if you are a man or woman of God, some people may miss out on their blessings, because of failing to recognize the spiritual leadership and anointing bestowed in a particular office or ministry. Some people can become offended at you for simply speaking the truth, but don't allow it to depress you or make you feel guilty.

The Bible says, " Don't you dare lay a hand on my anointed, don't hurt a hair on the heads of my prophets." ( Psalm 105:15 MSG) There is need to respect every person in accordance with what they deserve. Give honour to whoever deserves the honour and respect.  Remember, Jesus, who always  spoke the truth, offended religious leaders. Jesus made this statement  about the residents of  Nazareth, who held an overly- familiar  attitude toward Him: " A prophet is not without honor, except in his own country and in his own house."( Matthew 13:57)

So, don't be surprised if your family, friends, or co - workers get offended at you in the same way. In fact, you can expet it. Another example of an overly- familiar attitide can occur between a husband and wife. When a wife becomes overly - familiar with her husband, she may prefer going to the pastor or the  elders of the church for prayer, instead of her husband. That can happen to any of us when we know the weaknesses and strengths of others.

However, you avoid becoming offended by familiarity by separating the person and all their weaknesses from the anointing that abides within them. The natural, human things that everyone does, like living dirty socks on the floor, can cause  those familiar with this behavior to question their spiritual abilities. A wife may ask herself, " How can I receive from this man when he doesn't even have enough sense to pick up his dirty socks?"

However, when you separate the natural man from the anointing, you will be able to receive the Word of God from him. Become  aware  of the possibility of offense occuring in your everyday life, then resist the temptation to be offended.

The Bible also says, " Woe  unto the world because of offences! for it must needs be that offences come; but woe to that man  by whom the offence cometh!(Matthew  18:7)

Repeat this aloud: " Today, I forgive those who have wronged me. I let go of the offense that has clung to me for years.  By faith, I release offense and let it go. By the power of God that works through me, I declare by faith that offense has to flee, in the name of Jesus."( Ephesians 3:20, Isaiah  43:25, Ephesians 4:31-32).

I pray that you be separated from the spirit overly - familiarity and unforgiveness, in the name of Jesus.
Strive to avoid provocation and over- reaction in the name of Jesus.

May God richly bless you all!

WHY DOES GOD WAIT SO LONG?

Greetings in the name of Jesus Christ!  Here is the word for your meditation and prayer this morning! I want to start by mentioning that many people are not prepared to wait for God's appointed time. The Bible  says, " But those who wait upon God get fresh strength. They spread  their wings and soar like eagles,             They run and don't get tired, they walk and don't lag behind." ( Isaiah 40:31 MSG). The title of my message is:"WHY DOES GOD WAIT SO LONG?"

I really enjoy  what God is allowing me to do in ministry, but I try not to let my self-worth become   tied up in it. The reason is that if someday I am not able to do this anymore, I still want to have joy. I still want to enjoy my life.  I still want to know that I am a valuable person. When  God  came to Abraham and told him that He was going to bless him, Abraham said to God, " That's fine, but what I really want is a son." God said, I am  going to give you what you ask for," but He didn't give to Abraham right away.

The word  says  "Abraham was hundred  years old when Isaac was born" ( Genesis 21:5). Actually, twenty years went by from the time God promised Abraham that he would have a child to the time that child was born. In fact, Abraham was already old when God first  gave him  the promise  of a son.

By the time Abraham fathered that child, his wife had already gone through the change of life(menopause). She had a barren womb. So Abraham and Sarah not only had a prayer request, they also needed a miracle. Ins't it interesting that sometimes when you ask God for something, He lets it go so long, the  only thing that can possibly produce what you asked for is a miracle? Why does  God do that? Because He likes " to show Himself strong in behalf of those whose hearts are blameless toward Him" ( 2 Chronicles 16:9).

When Martha and Mary sent for Jesus to come and minister to their brother, Lazarus, who was gravely ill, why did Jesus wait two days longer, until Lazarus had actually died and was buried, before He went and raised Lazarus from the dead? It was because  Jesus  already knew what He was going to do for Lazarus.

If something is dead - a dream, a desire, a want, a need - it doesn't matter  to God how dead it is. God can still bring it back to life in His timing because our God is an awesome God. Jeremiah 32:27 says, " I am God, the God of everything living. Is there anything I can't do?"( MSG) Nothing  is too hard for Him.

That is why He is never in a hurry and why it seems as if He often waits until nothing will work but a miracle. The Bible also says, " I don't think the way you think. The way you work isn't the the way I work. " For as the sky soars high above earth, so the way I work surpasses the way you work, and the way I think is beyond the way you think.( Isaiah 55:8-9 MSG)

I don't know what area of your life has been barren for a long time, don't give up, just wait upon the Lord, you are about to receive your Isaac.  Even at such a time as this you may be waiting for your healing, deliverance, and breakthrough, just receive it by faith in the name of Jesus. ( Exodus 15:26, Jeremiah 30:17, Jeremiah 8:22, Jeremiah 17:14).

Remember, with God all things are possible(Matthew 19:26)
Be strengthened and encouraged in the name of Jesus!

May God richly bless you all!
