TRUE MEANING OF HUMILITY FROM A BIBLICAL PERSPECTIVE

Greetings in the name of Jesus Christ! I thank God once again  for giving us yet another day to be able to share the Word of God. I want to share the subject of humility from a Biblical perspective. The title of my message is: " TRUE MEANING OF HUMILITY FROM A BIBLICAL PERSPECTIVE ".

I want to quickly mention that many people have the wrong idea about God, the Bible and humility,  or being humble.
They think being humble means groveling in front of others or thinking they are no good and others are better.

The scripture in Philippians 2:3 says, " Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit, but in humility consider others better than yourselves."
Those who think they are not good and others are better  like I mentioned earlier, is not what the Bible says.

God says when you are humble, you are free from pride  and arrogance.
You know that in your flesh you are inadequate, yet you also know who you are in Christ.
You don't need to defend yourself when you understand what the Bible says about humility, for you know who you are in Christ.

You can be a peacemaker without needing to fight for your rights.
You can walk humbly in the power of the Holy Spirit, not in your own strength.
Godly  humility is being comfortable with who you are in the Lord and therefore putting others first.

The picture of humility in the Bible is one of a strong person who loves others, not someone who is wimp. Humility is about removing a selfish spirit in you, and replacing it with the love and consideration for others first. ( John 13:34-35)

Humility is also recognizing that you need God's help, knowing you can't truly succeed in your own strength.
It is thanking God for your talents and  gifts, and giving him credit for your accomplishments. ( Psalm 115:1).

It is being comfortable with who you are in Christ and seeking to build others up, not yourself.
It is gratefully  walking in God's grace, love, and forgiveness.
In the Bible, Jesus gives us a good example of humility in action. Although he was the son  of God,  he was gentle and humble - and he was strong. " I am gentle and humble in heart. " ( Matthew 11:29).

Your attitude should be the same as that of Christ Jesus: Who, being in the very nature of God, did not consider equality with God something to be grasped, but made himself nothing, taking the very nature of a servant, being made in human likeness.
And being found in appearance as a man, he humbled himself and became obedient to death- even death on the cross! " ( Philippians 2:5-8).

Remember, humility is not being weak or passive.
You can still defuse arguments when you are humble.
You don't need to stand up for yourself in an angry manner.

And you don't have to win every argument. The Bible says, " A gentle answer  turns away wrath, but a harsh word stirs  up anger. ( Proverbs 15:1).
You can handle unfair treatment peacefully when you are humble.

You can respond to unfair treatment, without becoming bitter.
Godly humility means you do not feel a need for vengeance or revenge. ( Romans 12:14-17). " Get rid of all bitterness,  rage and anger, browling and slander, along with every form of malice.

Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you. ( Ephesians 4:31-32).
You can ask for forgiveness when you are humble, even when someone has hurt you.  ( Matthew 5:23-24).

Bible- based humility does not mean being unaware of your gifts or calling.  " Although  I am less than the least of all of God's people, this grace was given to me: to preach to the gentiles the unsearchable riches of Christ".( Ephesians 3:8).  " I am not in the least inferior to the " super - apostles," even though I am nothing," ( 2 Corinthians 12:11).

Finally let me say you will usually be more successful when you practice what the Bible says about God and humility, than if you are pushy or arrogant.
Humility earns you influence and honour.  ( Proverbs 22:4)

May I therefore encourage all of us to endeavour to practice the God- kind of humility in our Christian journey. ( James 4:10).
When you understand the meaning of humility in the Bible and  put it into practice, you are a winner -even if you do not " win."

May God richly bless you all!

LET THE HOLY SPIRIT LEAD

Greetings in the name of Jesus Christ! Once again     " Let the Holy Spirit lead." It is the Holy Spirit that helps us to function and be active as a body of Christ.

The Bible says,“It is the spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing: the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life.”(John6:63)
When we speak the word of God, we breathe life in it and it becomes rhema (living word).
The scripture also says,"To a natural man, the words of Jesus Christ and the message of the cross are all foolishness (1 Corinthians 2:14, 1 Corinthians 1:18).

A person who is not living in the Spirit cannot comprehend the message of Jesus Christ, because it originates from the Holy Spirit. This is why it takes the Holy Spirit to enlighten the eyes of the natural man’s understanding and convict his heart, before he can accept Jesus Christ into his life.(Romans 10:9-10)

To live in the Spirit, you need the Holy Spirit to quicken you.
It is His work to make you alive and to strengthen you spiritually.
When you are down or tired, if you pray in the Spirit long enough, you will find the strength to undertake the assignment ahead of you.( Romans 8:26-27).

Every assignment that God has for you is first spiritual and then physical.
Whatever happens in the physical, originates first in the spiritual realm, before manifesting in the physical.

This is why you cannot effectively perform a divine assignment using only physical means.
Even when you have to undertake the physical aspects of a divine assignment, you need spiritual stamina or input to be effective.( Acts 4:30-31).

Moreover, if you live in the Spirit, you should also be led by the Spirit. (Galatians 5:16-17).
Who leads you, reveals who owns you (Romans 6:16).
To understand what it means to be led by the Spirit, read up the account of the operations of the Holy Spirit in the life of Philip in Acts 8:26-40.

If you are saved and you barely receive divine guidance from the Holy Spirit, you are still a babe in the Kingdom; but if you are regularly led of the Holy Spirit – meaning you hear His voice and follow His instructions – then you have most likely attained the level of maturity in the faith where you can be called a son (Hebrews 5:11-14).

God is looking for sons and daughters, not just babes!
There are several Kingdom assignments that God wants to give out, but He is looking for sons to take them up.
Sons and daughters hear His voice and obey promptly, but babes find it difficult even to  recognize God’s voice.(John10:3).

Sons and daughters are guided by the Holy Spirit into all truth, because they can accept it and run with it, but babes cannot stand certain truths (John 16:12-13).
If there are some truth from God’s word that can make you to turn back from following the Lord, you are still a babe and not yet a son or daughter.

The word of God contains depths of truth.
While babes read through it without getting much, sons and daughters carefully go step by step through it to harness the volumes of truth contained in it.( Joshua 1:8, Luke 5:4).

Are you a baby, son or daughter?
From what I have just explained above, you now know who you are in Christ Jesus.
Just pray and ask the Holy Spirit to lead and guide you all the time.

Father, give me ears that hear your Spirit, and give me a heart that follows His leading in Jesus name we pray- Amen!
May God richly bless you all!

IF IT IS YOUR WILL

Greetings in the name of Jesus Christ!
As I continue to share the word of God on this platform, I would like to share the scripture in James 4:13‭-‬15 which says, "Now listen, you who say, “Today or tomorrow we will go to this or that city, spend a year there, carry on business and make money.” Why, you do not even know what will happen tomorrow.
What is your life?
You are a mist that appears for a little while and then vanishes.
Instead, you ought to say, “If it is the Lord’s will, we will live and do this or that.”

The title of my message is: " IF IT IS YOUR WILL!"
Many times  we take life for granted, we never think that the next second is never guaranteed for anyone.

So many people have lost their lives unexpectedly, through accidents, killings, sudden death and any other ways. What guarantee do you have that you will see tomorrow, what guarantee is there that what you are planning to do will happen.
Rather as the verse says " if it is the Lord's will".

God has the final say, in everything that we do.  He is the only one who knows if tomorrow is guaranteed for us or not. Everything can only succeed or happen in life if it is God's will.
Jesus says, " Without me , you can't do nothing." ( John 15:5).  Do not procrastinate about doing good, praying, or making peace with someone; for you never know it might be your last chance. ( Galatians 6:7-10).

I know this is not an encouraging devotional message, like what I always share, but it will make you think about life, more critical  and specific, as you work towards achieving your God given destiny. Remembering that it is not by mighty or by power, but by God Spirit, will and grace. ( Zechariah 4:6, Titus 3:5).

Do the will of God whilst you can serve Him with all your heart, love as if there is no tomorrow, forgive those who have done you wrong, live in peace for you never know when God can call you. ( Ecclesiastes 9:5-10).
What is life?
The verse says it's just but a vapour today you may be alive, but tomorrow is not guaranteed for anyone.

So let us love one another, stop hating and shunning other people.
Remember you have only one life to live, don't waste time hurting and causing grief on other people. ( Ephesians 4:31-32, Mark 12:30).

Do the will of God whilst you can.
Love, interact, laugh, share and fellowship for God's glory. ( 1 John 4:7-18).
Be hopeful and joyful all the time.

May God richly bless you all!

TIMES OF TESTING PASS

Greetings in the name of Jesus Christ!
I just want to encourage someone who is about to give up because of trials and tribulations.
The title of my message is: " TIMES OF TESTING PASS! "

I personally, when I am facing difficult times, I tell myself, "This cannot last forever.
This, too, shall pass." You can probably look back at your life and see many difficult times you have endured even though at the time you thought , "I cannot stand this for another day."

The devil probably tempted you every five minutes to believe the trial was going to last forever.
The Bible says, " My brethren, count it all joy when ye fall into divers temptations;Knowing this, that the trying of your faith worketh patience.
But let patience have her perfect work, that he may be perfect and entire,  wanting nothing." ( James 1:1-4).

As you consider how many times you have already made it to the other side of pain, you can be confident you will make it again through Christ who strengthens you. ( Phillipians 4:13).
And on the other side of trials, you will see how God turned those experiences into good for your life. ( Romans 8:28).

All things work together for good for those that love God, and are called according to His purpose.
If you have been having problems for six months or more, it probably seems your problem has lasted for an eternity.

But our years on earth are only a little drop of nothing compared to forever.
Paul knew that the season's of trials pass.
It is tough when we are going through trials, but Paul learned to keep his eyes on the prize of heaven and trusted God to prepare him so that God's glory  was revealed through his life.

He wrote: " For our light, momentary affliction  ( this slight distress of the passing hour ) is ever more and more abundantly preparing and producing and achieving for us an everlasting weight of glory ( beyond all measure, excessively surpassing all comparisons and all calculations,  a vast and transcendent glory  and blessedness never to cease!), since we consider and look not to the things that are seen but to the things that are unseen; for the things that are visible are temporal  ( brief and fleeting), but the things that are invisible are deathless and everlasting. "  ( 2 Corinthians 4:17-18).

When you are tempted to become discontented, remember: This, too, shall pass." No matter how bad your current situation may look,  God loves you.
Never let go of the truth that God loves you, no matter what is going on in your life.
You can trust that everything will work out good for you because God loves you.

The people who have real problems are those who don't know Jesus.
They have valid problems because they don't have hope.
But the people who know their God, will be strong and take action. (Daniel 11:32).
As believers we are more than conquerors because we have Jesus walking with us through our problems. (Romans 8:31-39).

Your worst day with Jesus will be better than your best day without Him.
Make a decision to be content.
Even when you are facing challenges or sickness, just say, ' God,  I love you.
I know  You love me.
I trust you.

I believe that this is going to work out for good.
All things work together for good. "
Repeat these words several times until things change in your life.

All things work together for good for those who love God and are called according to His purpose. Don't you know it makes the devil mad when he throws his best shot at us, but we stay full of Joy?  No matter what he does, we can still say, "I love YOU,  God. I trust You, and I know this is going to work for my good. "

Remember, " TIMES OF TESTING  PASS!"
No problem or challenge lasts forever.
Everything under heaven has a season and time, it shall come to pass.  ( Ecclesiastes 3:1, 1 Corinthians 10:13).

May you be strengthened and encouraged in the name of Jesus.
God bless you all!

SEE WHAT OTHERS CAN'T SEE

Greetings in the name of Jesus Christ!
I continue to share the word of  encouragement at such a time as this.
The title of my message is " See what others can't  see!"

The scripture  in 1 Kings 18:42‭-‬45 says,
"So Ahab went off to eat and drink, but Elijah climbed to the top of Carmel, bent down to the ground and put his face between his knees.  “Go and look toward the sea,” he told his servant.
And he went up and looked. “There is nothing there,” he said. Seven times Elijah said, “Go back.”  The seventh time the servant reported, “A cloud as small as a man’s hand is rising from the sea.” So Elijah said, “Go and tell Ahab, ‘Hitch up your chariot and go down before the rain stops you.’ ”  Meanwhile, the sky grew black with clouds, the wind rose, a heavy rain started falling and Ahab rode off to Jezreel."

After the contest at mount Carmel Elijah informs Ahab to go and eat for the rain is coming.
Elijah saw the rain before anyone could see and feel it.
Before Elijah prayed for the rain he told Ahab that the rain was coming and he should prepare.

Speak positive over your situations in life.
See the rain before others can see it. " See what others can't see!"
In all the challenging times in your life speak positive, it might be sickness, speak healing, financial problems, speak wealth, in pain speak comfort.

Speak positive over any situation in your life, before anyone can see it.(Deuteronomy 28:13-14).  Elijah saw the rain in the scorching sun and drought and to others it didn't make sense as to why he told Ahab to go and eat, the rain is coming.

People won't see what you see in your situation, when you fail in life some rule you out, but you see Victory and success. ( Romans 8:35-39,  :Micah 7:7-9)
Speak positive and speak your desires in any trial you face before it materialises.

Remember, "Death and life are in the power of the tongue......" ( Proverbs 18:21).
You become what you say in life.

When Elijah prayed for the rain it took seven times before any sign of rain was seen. (James 5:17-18) Child of God pray without ceasing!
1Thessalonians 5:16-18 says "Rejoice always, pray without ceasing,  give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you."

Do not give up on praying!
Pray until the rains come!
Pray until your Isaac comes!
Pray until your breakthrough comes!

Elijah prayed seven times, before the servant could see any sign of the coming rain.
Do not stop until you start seeing what you spoke about in your situation.
Elijah spoke of the coming rain, before anyone could see it and the weather did not show that any rain was coming.
He prayed seven times before the sign and rain came.
We need this kind of faith, hope, confidence and commitment in our Christian walk. (Hebrews 11:6, 1 John 5:14).

Do not pray and worry, pray until the rain comes, no matter how long it takes.
Wait upon the Lord in expectation. ( Psalm 62:5, Isaiah 40:31).

See the outcome you desire, before anyone can, in challenging situations.
Speak positive outcomes over every trial you face and pray until the rain comes.
Pray without ceasing. ( Ephesians 6:18, Luke 18:1).

May the Lord give you eyes to "See what others can't see!"
Don't give up!
Don't compromise!
Remain steadfast and persistent, until you see and experience your expected and deserved blessings! ( Habakuk 2:3, Lamentations 3:24-33, Psalm 30:5).

Desire Spiritual eyes to " SEE WHAT OTHERS CAN'T SEE!"

May God richly bless you all.

DON'T BACKSLIDE, TIMES OF REFRESHING SHALL COME

Greetings in the name of Jesus Christ!
Once again I am delighted to share the word of life, as we continue to seek God's face at such a time as this.

The Bible in Acts 3:19 says,
"Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, when the times of refreshing shall come from the presence of the Lord;"
The title of my message is " DON'T BACKSLIDE, TIMES OF REFRESHING SHALL COME"
In our Christian journey we sometimes face challenges and problems that may cause us to fall and backslide.

But the word of God is always there to keep and protect us from falling and giving up in life.
Backsliding is such a terrible condition, that any child of God who backslides must quickly seek restoration.

The danger with backsliding is that a backslider may perish with his or her enemies,  like Samson did.
At times you may even lose all what you had gained from  God like Judas lscariot  (Judges 16:30, Acts 1:16-20).

The good news is that God has provided a remedy for backsliding.
In the scripture reading, we see the loving God calling and inviting backsliding Israel back to Himself.

This is a pointer to the fact that God wants to restore all backsliders.
God is a merciful and loving Father who does not want to see His children suffering.

"Only acknowledge thine iniquity, that thou hast transgressed against the Lord thy God, and hast scattered thy ways to the strangers under every tree and ye have not obeyed my voice, saith the Lord. Turn, O backsliding children, saith the LORD; for l am married unto you: and l will take you one of a city, and two of a family, and I will bring you to Zion:"
(Jeremiah 3:13-14)

The above verses of Scripture contain the cure for backsliding.
Restoration for the backslider starts with an acknowledgment of sins and a contrite return to God.
In other words, the cure to backsliding lies in genuine repentance.

Repentance is a complete turnaround from one's sins with a determination never to return to those sins any more.
The scripture also says, " The sacrifices of God are a broken and a contrite heart, O God, thou wilt not despise" ( Psalm 51:17).
God desires that when we approach Him, we must be genuine and real, so that He may also forgive us our trespasses.

This was what Samson failed to do throughout his twenty years of being judge over lsrael.
To make matters worse, he always ascribed his victory and achievement to his strength.
Hear what he said after one of his victories in Judges 15:16.
"...With the jawbone of an ass, heaps upon heaps, with the jaw of an ass have I slain a thousand men.”

There is no record of him giving glory to God even once.
There are many such people who ascribe their achievement and victory to themselves, instead of giving all the glory to God. (Psalm 115:1).
Samson, when he should have prayed for mercy, he prayed a wrong prayer, asking God to strengthen him one more time, so that he could avenge his eyes!

Due to the mercy of God, and because the gifts and calling of God are without repentance, God still granted him his request, and he died with his enemies (Romans 1 1 :29, Judges 16:28-30).

In Acts 3:19, we see some of the great benefits of repentance.
These include forgiveness, the blotting out of sins and the experience of a time of refreshing from the presence of the Lord.

Beloved, are you in a backslidden state?
I encourage you to return to God through the Lord Jesus Christ today.
Read 1 John 2:1-2, for a better understanding of your heritage in Christ.
As you do that, the joy of salvation and the victory over sin will be restored to you.

Pray for restoration if you are a backslider.
If by His grace you are still standing, pray that you will not backslide, and also pray for all backsliders in the Body of Christ that you know.

May be you were about to give up on God, because of challenges, pray that you don't fall and backslide.
Jude even assures us that the Lord will keep you from falling.
" Now unto him that is able to keep you from falling, and to present you faultless before the presence of his glory with exceeding joy." ( Jude 1:24).

The Lord will always refresh and restore us in our desperate and hopeless situation.( Isaiah 41:10-13, Joel 2:12-14, Psalm 121:1-8).  Joel 2v25-27 says, " And I will restore to you the years that the locust hath eaten, the cankerworm, and the caterpillar, and the palmerworm, my great army which I sent among you. And ye shall eat in plenty, and be satisfied, and praise the name of the Lord your God, that hath dealt wondrously with you: and my people shall never be ashamed........"
You might have been a backslider as a result of many reasons known to yourself, but the Lord is assuring you of restoration and refreshing times that are coming ahead of you.
Restoration in your marriage!
Restoration in your health!
Restoration in your relationship!
Restoration in your spiritual life!
Restoration in your business!
Restoration in your career!

May the Lord restore and refresh you in all aspects of your life, in the name of Jesus!

God bless you all

DON'T LOSE HEART

Shalom! I have a message for someone who is about to give up or surrender, in life.
There is someone who is saying I have been fasting and praying for a long time, but nothing seems to be working for me. ,
The situation is even becoming worse and more challenging.

I have come to encourage and assure you, that your prayers and good works are not in vain, it shall be well with you soon.   "Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye steadfast, unmoveable,  always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as he know that your Labour is not in vain in the Lord.( 1 Corinthians 15:58).
The title of my message is: " DON'T LOSE HEART!"

We all go through phases where we question whether or not God is going to show  up on our behalf to defeat the giants that confront us in life.

But, 2 Corinthians 4vs16-18, gives us the hope that we need to continue persevering: " Therefore we do not lose heart.
Even though our outward man is perishing, yet the inward man is being renewed day by day.
For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, is working for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of Glory, while we do not look at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen.
For the things which are seen are temporary, but the things which are not seen are eternal. " ( 2  Corinthians 4:16-18).

These verses tell us that: .........................
* Don't lose heart.
* Regardless of what it looks like on the outside, our strength is being renewed by God within.
* The things that we face are not as big as they appear, for there is always an even greater picture of hope.
* Don't focus so much on what is going on in the natural.
It's what is going on in the spiritual realm that counts.
* The things that we can see ( our circumstances) are temporary, but the things that we cannot see ( God working on our behalf and transforming us into the image of the Lord Jesus) are securing our eternity in glory.

It is always discouraging to see someone suddenly give up when  he or she is very close to a miracle.
Even when you are weak and perhaps feel as if there is a breach between you and God, the Lord will still give you what you need to persevere.
Don't give up!

To the weak who trust Him, God gives power.
To those who feel that they have utterly no might at all, He continues to increase strength. ( Isaih 40:28-30).

God loves it when we talk to Him and come to Him for strength when we feel weak.
Jesus in Matthew 11:28, says " Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest." God wants you to lay everything that is bothering you at His feet. " Cast .....all your care upon Him, for He cares for you." ( 1 Peter 5 :7).
You have to take quality time with God and put Him first.

Study and meditate on His word, daily. ( Joshua 1:8, 2 Timothy 2:15).
And if you will put God first, He will replenish you.
Regardless of what is taking place in your immediate surroundings, never give up on God, because He will never give up on you. " He Himself has said, ' I will never leave you nor forsake you" ( Hebrews 13:5).

Wait on God, and you will soon possess the power to fly over every hindrance that has restrained you from rising to fulfill the call of God - -the call that He has entrusted you to carry out according to His will.

" Those who wait on the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles, they shall run and and not be weary, they shall walk and not faint. ( Isaih 40:31).

Don't lose heart!
Don't give up!
Don't quit!
Don't surrender!

Press on! It shall be well with you! ( Hebrews 10:35-39, Galatians 6:9-10).
Pray without ceasing! ( Ephesians 6:18, 1 Thessalonians 5:17).

May  God give you strength to press on!
God bless you all!
